View Full Version : With the lighting and vision improvements they have shown, what about Darkness?

Will it be possible to create areas of darkness from something like a Darkness spell? It would need to block all internal and external light sources. Pathfinder 2e adds an extra complication of light spells of a higher level still working though (https://2e.aonprd.com/Spells.aspx?ID=59).

That's not something that I've seen; but you can turn off any light source whether on the map or on a token which would effectively block vision. Or you could reduce a token's light or vision range.

You could use FoW to simulate a bit of the darkness, at least it should hide whatever is beneath it :) (but not sure how well it reacts in total, more a simulation of what you need. Didn't test it yet)

Using an image asset is probably your easiest option, obviously it won't hide every token within the space, but you can do that manually pretty easily :)

Like all enhancement requests, add it to the Wish List; https://fgapp.idea.informer.com/

I've just started playing with LOS and saw this thread. Is there a way to adjust each characters sight depending on whether they have a light source or type of light source? How does the rooms light source impact vision. Any chance there is a good video tutorial on this particular subject?

[Update] Looks like its covered here -https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?49351-FGU-Dynamic-Lighting-Support-for-Different-Types-of-Light-Sources/page6&highlight=LOS+light+source

See: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1172766725/Upcoming+Features+Highlight+Sneak+Peek :)

Or the last streams of FG :)

When it is actually released, no-one knows, but it looks already very developed :)

I asked about Darkness and Devilsight, in the LOS thread I think. Moon Wizard said they looked at implementation issues but decided not to support it. They may iterate back over it after the lighting update is released.
