Howdy - I have been DMing a FGC campaign for a year. But that campaign stopped abruptly when my ethernet adapter died. No problem I thought, I'll switch to a wireless adapter, update my port forwarding rules accordingly....nope, that doesn't work. Tried my laptop, on the wireless and ethernet - nope. Borrowed a spare desktop from work to try its ethernet - nope.
I've tried just about everything I can think of (specific rules/forwarding, DMZ, windows firewall entirely off). It really got too frustrating to keep attempting it, so the campaign has been on pause for months.
Trying to think of other things to attempt - does Unity have different networking protocols? And if so, is there any way I can test the connection as a host before purchasing the license? From a cursory bit of research I read that it uses the same port, but on UDP. Does this seem like a fruitful thing to try?
thanks for any thoughts.
