I'm creating this tread to share extensions I currently use for Unity with the 4E rule set. Some of these extensions are created by me, but most are created by others that I have modified to work with 4E. My collaborator for many of the custom extensions is our good friend Valeros, creator of the 4E Item Parser. I am also very grateful for Kelrugem's help.

I will be adding to this list over time. I have quite a few 4E extensions and will make sure I reach out to any of the extension authors before posting.

*Edit* Many extension developers have been kind enough to make 4e compatibility of their extensions. Great news for us 4e users! Forum and FORGE links will be included for those extensions.

4E Char Sheet Header: *Updated* Update needed to be compatible with new FGU update.

There were two items my players were constantly complaining about. One was not having a HP counter which had the HP total descend numerically as damage is taken. The other was that they spent most of their time on the Powers tab and wanted a way to see their defense numbers, hit points and surges at all times. This was remedied by Valeros creating the 4E Char Sheet Header. This extension removes the Bloodied display on the main tab and replaces it with the characters current HP. This display was also added to the header of the character sheet as well as adding the character's Level, Defenses, Surges (with button named Heal to spend a healing surge).

Theme_Winter_4E: The new FG Winter Theme https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.php?id=SWKTHEME_WINTER looks great but is not optimized for 4E. For example the At-Will, Encounter, Daily powers do not have their corresponding colors. This extension fixes this and also adds some other graphic additions.

Font-Roboto-FGU_Merriweather_4E: This Font extension was created by merging mattekure's Roboto FGU extension https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?57197-Fonts-from-Google-Fonts and Strangely Browne's Merriweather's font extension https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?65155-Larger-Nicer-Font-(Well-I-think-so).
I have modified the font sizes to fit 4E panels making them as large as I could and not be cut off.

4E Better Skill Tab: The Skill tab seemed a little cluttered to me so I made some adjustments to make it a little cleaner. I removed the check boxes on the left of the panel and separated the items a little.

4E_Desktop_Buttons.ext: Modified the original by mattekure https://fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?57309-Extension-Add-buttons-to-modifier. For my version I removed the shortened names and adding the full name text. I also modified the button size and placement to accommodate.

Aura Effects: *Updated* One of my favorite extensions

Combat Tracker Remove Effect Text: *UPDATE* This extension is useful when using Aura Effects or when many effects are ongoing. The character display on the Combat Tracker can become quite busy. This extension removes the text that is displayed by default in the Combat Tracker and now only is displayed when the Effects button is selected.

4E Combat Tracker Move Delete Button: When a monster is defeated, a red delete button is placed to the far right shifting everything to the left. Valeros and I found this annoying so Valeros created this extension to move the button to the left next to Visibility icon.

4E Automatic Flanking: *NEW v2.8 added Token Height Indicator compatibility* Kent McCullough has given permission to modify his extension and we now have a version that works with 4E! Currently only Flanking is working.

Cohorts and Companions: This extension adds Pet/NPC control for the player. Players can now move pets or NPC's they control on map. Player also can use the NPC powers on the NPC sheet. Very cool!

4E Add Helpless Condition Parsing: *NEW* Valeros has created a simple extension to add the Helpless condition text roll over parsing (why this isn't in the standard ruleset is weird). This will become helpful for the future 4E Crit tables I am creating.

4E Add Item Token and Description: *Updated Version 1.1: Token image has been moved to the right side of panel to work with latest version of Fantasy Grounds Unity.* This extension adds a Token image for an Item similar to NPC tokens, plus a text box at bottom of item for formatted text and linking images. Add Token to item as you would for NPC's. Created by Valeros. I combined two of his extensions into this one extension.

4E_Dis_Advantage: *New Version* This extension brings Advantage/Disadvantage plus an Inspiration toggle to 4E. Ammunition Manager: Adds a checkmark on ranged weapons ammo when used. Prints a warning in the chat box when using a weapon that is out of ammo.

4E_Attack_Roll_Font_Icon_Color: This extension adds new icons displayed in the chat box for attack Hit, Miss, Crit, Fumble (the Crit and Miss have the Eff word on the die image). The total die result is also using a larger font and in Red.

4E Change Residuum Value: Changed the GP exchange from 10,000gp - 1 Residuum to 1-1 GP value. This makes it easier to buy Ritual components. 100 Residuum = 100GP worth of Residuum. Most Rituals require some GP value of Residuum. So if its a cost of 20GP of Residuum in components, when the component is used the player subtracts 20 Residuum. Makes it easier to track.

4E Default Weapon MiniChar: For players that like to use the Mini Sheet, this extension fixes the Weapon and Implement section so the player can mouse over the number and change it. This is not working in the original.

4E Familiar No Default Powers: When creating a Character, Fantasy Grounds adds default powers (Action Point and Second Wind). This is carrying over to Familiars. These powers are removed from Familiars using this extension. Created by Valeros.

4E Encounter XP and Level Calculator: This extension auto calculates the encounters XP and Level when selecting the calculate button. Created by Valeros.

4E Item Slot Field: This extension adds a "Slot" input field to the Character Sheet Defense section. This can be used to track items such as amulets that give a defensive bonus.

4E Unidentified Item Tracker: Identified item toggle added to inventory to show if item is identified. This can be selected by the DM only to show when the item is Identified thus revealing the items properties.

4E Long Rest Healing Surges: This is a house rule extension. Instead of all healing surges returning after a long rest, only 2 plus Constitution Modifier is given on a long rest.

I looked at this extension a while ago. It would be a lot of work to port it as its tied into the 5e item/character/npc windows.

I did find something similar which works with 4E that I use for items (paid extension).

Create a custom effect "Amulet of Protection +2; FORT: 2; REF: 2; WILL: 2"
In game your player finds an Amulet of Protection +2
When player equips the item the effect "Amulet of Protection +2; FORT: 2; REF: 2; WILL: 2" is automatically added to the Combat Tracker.

Map Parcel adds an Inventory Tab to NPC's so you can add Amulet of Protection +2 to the NPC and they will get the benefit of that magical item. If the players kill the NPC, a loot parcel icon is dropped on the map containing that NPC's inventory which the players can loot.

Question about the 4E Power Card Truncated extension. I loaded this extension and in the Module power definitions, it has the great truncated table. When I drag that power onto the character sheet it transforms back to the spaced-out text missing the table. Is there a way to keep the formatted, truncated table on the character sheet?

Short answer is no. The reason is text in the power is parsed (you can mouse over highlight the effect text) and can’t be formatted.

Hi all.,
I am using ​the Notes extension, specifically the Item Slots image for adding inventory items to it.

I cannot figure out how to allow the player to be able to edit the image (and drag items onto it).
The slot image is read only and the players cannot interact with it.
As the DM I can with no problems (because I can unlock the padlock)
Hoping I am missing something obvious...

Yeah, unfortunately that's how fantasy grounds works. Images shared by DM are locked (read only) on players side. So the DM has to do everything.
I complained about it a year ago but was told that's how permissions work in FGU. I think its lame but apparently that wont change...

This is great stuff! Is there any way with the header extension to have the current HP totals replace the wounds box in the combat tracker? We almost never look at our character sheets for our HP.

G'day.
Noticed last session this error now pops up with the 4E Death Indicator extension in use.
When a target becomes bloodied the error appears and there is no blood spatter on the token.
Have tested in several campaigns with no extensions loaded.
Used to work fine all during 2021
Win 10
Unity
No PC changes.
Any one else having the same issue?

I don’t. In my games the GM is the only one that sees HP numbers on the CT, the players see Wounds Categories set in options.

I noticed something strange with the flanking extension and just want to see if I'm doing something wrong. When the characters are above and below a monster, they don't get flanking automatically applied. But, if they are left and right or above and below but partially in the monster's space, they do get flanking (images attached). Might this be because of some setting I have applied?

I tested it in two different campaigns and both are working. Do you have any other extensions? If yes, try with them turned off.

Same result. I disabled all extensions. I also messed with the token size a little bit to see if that mattered but didn't make a difference.

Ok so I've discovered something interesting. It works at several different points on this same map. It seems the only place it doesn't work is at this specific "latitude". If I move all tokens left or right any distance on this same map, it won't work, but any distance up or down and it does. So this seems to be something about this map or grid. I'll have to try with some of my other maps and see if I notice similar behavior. I'll report back if I notice any interesting pattern.

I have noticed since yesterday's update that this extension is broken for me.

G'day

I have noticed since yesterday's update that this extension is broken for me.

I cannot drag customised items (items with images) into parcel or story links anymore.
No other extensions and PC restarts

Updated by Valeros to version 1.1.

I launch my game with 4E Power Card Truncated, that is awesome by the way for powers, but it applies for feats too. The result is that there no description visible anymore for the Feat Cards.

Working correct for me. Maybe the way your Feats are parsed is causing the issue?

Yep my feat cards have only informations in the "Description" field.

I generate my feats module with the tool to export it from the sql database of the compendium and it gives me this format. No luck for me xD

Has the 4E Combat Tracker Remove Effect Text extension stopped working for anyone else? It still works for me, but all my players now see the effect text all the time. I've tried updating and having them update.

If this isn't happening for anyone else, any idea what I might have changed that would cause this?

I can duplicate this. FGU is making a lot of changes to the rulesets including 4E which is breaking a lot of extensions. Looking at The Laboratory l there will be another big 4E change coming. I think it will be better to wait for that to hit as any fixes done now might be broken again.

The name of the template string_ctentry_effects was changed to string_ct_entry_effects. Furthermore the ct_effect_summary.lua script was changed.
It would be great if we could get this extension on Forge :)

Combat Tracker Remove Effect Text has been updated by Valeros. I am in the process to find any broken extensions and updating them. After that I will start adding them to the Forge.

Has anyone had any trouble with 4E HP Header v2? It has been blanking out the Name line on character sheets for me, although you can still edit the name if you Shift+Tab from the Class line. This is what it looks like for me on a fresh campaign with no other extensions, everything updated.

Ciao e scusate se scrivo in italiano. L'ultimo aggiornamento ha reso inutilizzabile tutte o quasi tutte le extension grafiche, per caso si ata pensando a fare qualcosa per sistemare questo? Vorrei si potesse tornare a vedere i poteri, mostri ed oggetti come si faceva prima. Grazie mille a tutti

Yeah, I got burned out fixing broken code every update. The latest update seems to try and unify all CoreRPG ruleset interface graphics. From what I can tell they are still making changes so any fixes will probably be broken in next update...

Theme_Winter_4E for the character sheets still seems to be working. Have you tried that?

When you open the powers and various things, it always sucks, it doesn't have the 4th edition front. Please make an extension that brings everything back to the way it was before, I assure you I'll pay you for it I'm not kidding.

Many of these mods were written by the original poster over 3 years ago; and have not been kept up to date since 2 years ago. Since the original poster has not responded, they may have moved on from supporting these mods.
