Welcome to the FG forums!

[1/12/2021 12:45:11 PM] FGU v4.0.0 ULTIMATE (2020-04-17)
This is a very old version of Fantasy Grounds Unity.

Go to where the FantasyGrounds.exe file is installed, usually C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds but could be different if you didn't select the default location during installation, delete FantasyGrounds.exe and then run the FantasyGroundsUpdater.exe file in the same directory to do an update.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your answer. I have tried what you suggested and the updater doesn't create a new FantasyGrounds.exe file. There's a "Fix permissions" error during the update , but if I close it it seems to do the update anyway.

I have tried what you suggested and the updater doesn't create a new FantasyGrounds.exe file.
This will be the cause of your installation not being able to update the old file, which you've now deleted, but the directory doesn't have the right permissions.

MAke sure that C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Ground has the "Full Control" permission in Windows file explorer Properties -> Security.

Thanks! The problem with the updater is now solved and there are no more error messages with the winter and futuristic themes. There are no error messages for the Gothic theme, but it's still malfunctioning, with the curtain covering the lower shortcuts and everything moved.42806

Good day Neverwen,

Yes, there may be some issues with the gothic theme at lower resolutions. I am currently working on a fix for this. In the meantime, a good workaround is to adjust the UI scale of FGU. This can be achieved by typing /scaleui 80 in the chat window. The number refers to the percent of the scale so find one that might work best for you at your current screen resolution.

Thanks! That solved the issue, but at "/scaleui 70", which is the size needed for the lower shotcuts to be available, most of the text is quite small and hard to read.

I have a fix in place that should address the issue in the Gothic Themes next update.

Thanks

After the update today, the text in the "Story" section of Savage Worlds is still black. Thanks.

Which theme might you be referring to?

Sorry. It is the green "futuristic"

I can not reproduce your issue after the update. Do you have any other extensions enabled?

I thought I didn't, and I usually check for these things. I am having a bad day with my pain condition and yes... it was an extention (author). Apologies!

No worries at all, in that case, it is an extension order issue. You can sort that out pretty easily. If you need help doing so let me know.

Cheers
