View Full Version : Using Alt-F4 in the Quickbar? DON'T!!!!

Hi,

I had a quick search but didn't find a specific thread pointing this out, but I've just found that using Alt-F4 in the Quickbar (using Windows) will hard close FGU. This is due to it calling a specific Windows function to close program.

Is it possible for Unity to bypass the Windows call, or, if that's not possible, to remove/block the use of Alt-F4 on the Quickbar? I've now got things on the buttons either side of it, but there's a not inconceivable chance that I'll hit that button (I use the key commands rather than mouse click) in the middle of a busy passage in the game, which would be less than ideal...

Cheers,

Simon

I just tested my quickbar and realised yeaup this would be a good quickbar shortcut to have bypassed on windows if possible or my fat finger quickly hitting alt f3 could very easily close my campaign, that being said i keep more of my shortcuts on shift / ctrl so its not the biggest deal but it does make the alt bar dangerous

We had this happen to a player during combat. He had mapped one of his attacks to that slot. So his first action in the first fight was to hard close FGU.
I told the group it's software developer humor. Somewhere a dev is giggling at him.
While we found it funny too, it would be nice to have fixed.
