Hello all!
Relatively new to the community, and I enjoy FGU so very much! One thing that bother me and my players is the fact that they can see the type of dice I'm rolling.
I was wondering if it is possible to somehow hide it, via an option or an extension? I googled and seen some threads about it, but they were most dated back to about a year ago without any improvement, and wanted to know if something has been added.

Thank you!

Roll in the dice tower? I think that works.

Thanks for the reply, it does semi work. When my creatures hit critical, for example, the rolls automatically rolls on the main window, and the players can then know that I rolled critical.

The short answer is no; the players always see the shadow dice when the DM rolls unless you roll something which is not a polyhedral dice (such as 1d5 or 1d21). Rolling into the dice tower will be fine for some rolls (such as ability checks) but not others, such as attack rolls.

It's sad that many players wish to simply have the option to hide it (which probably isn't too hard to implement), yet there has been no progress in the past couple of years... Another thing I wish they would have done is to cancel the automatic 'unconscious' effect.. As the DM, I want to tell the story in a dramatic fashion as to how the trolls head was cut, and have the players eagerly listening to see if the troll is dead or not, yet instead the program just shows them in a click of a button which makes the final blow seems less dramatic..

Have your players roll damage without a target. You can then drag that damage onto the target from chat once you have described the proceedings.

Thanks, that what I have been doing, yet I am missing much of the optimization of FGU for not having all the saving throws and dmg rolled and calculated for me.. If no other option, I will rather do that

You can still give elaborate description of the death of creatures (etc.) even if the outcome is known. We all know the good guys are gonna survive a film (or book) but still get tension watching the story unfold.

Well yeah, we can all have average expectations as well.. I aim to try and provide the best experience for the players, and this is something that, in my opinion, needs to be changed.
Anyways I am currently working on an extension to solve this issue.

Hello everyone once again! I just quickly updated that I found a solution to both problems! For anybody in the future -
* Shadow dice - I have used the Instant Dice (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?62047-Instant-Dice-Disable-Rolling-Animation) extenstion! The players won't see the rolls of the DM (Make sure you download the version on the second page)
* Instant death - I created an extension to handle this problem! All it does is simply doesn't add the 'Unconscious' effect when a target hit 0. Attached at the bottom.

This is why I LOVE FGU. If something is not of your liking, you can simply change it yourself.
Have a happy new year!!
