Hi, first time on the forums. Looking through FGU to decide if I should buy the ultimate license.

I was testing the races by trying to recreate the triton race, and I got everything to work except the ability score increase.

Here is what i've tried (all failed to add):

Name field: Ability Score Increase
Text field: Your Strength, Constitution, and Charisma scores each increase by 1.

Name field: Ability Score Increase
Text field: Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.
^ note: copied both from D&D beyond verbatim

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? All help i find is about using existing races, or tell me what I'm doing is correct.

https://www.youtube.com/c/Zacchaeus55/videos There is a video here somewhere that talks about making a custom race, step by step.

That was a video i watched. I'm following it perfectly, as far as I can tell, and no results.

The second one should certainly work (and I just tested it and it does). The first one needs to be "Your Strength score increases by 1, and your Constitutions score increases by 1, and your Charisma score increases by 1".

What language do I use if I want to reduce an ability by 2? I am making a custom race and my increases work, but I have tried the language
"decreased" and "reduced" unsuccessfully.
(Your Intelligence and Wisdom scores increase by 2, and your Charisma score is reduced by 2.)

**disregard, I found a workaround, by creating separate "Ability Score Increase" traits, and that seemed to work. Thanks. **
