I am running Dungeon of the Mad Mage in FGU. I have the ultimate License, my payers all have the demo. We built characters and that was all fine. But when I dropped them on the first level players map and shared the map to the players, what appear for the players was only a black field with the grid and their tokens. They could move their tokens, but the actual map never appeared. We waited a significant amount of time for the map to load. (We have been playing in FGC for a year, and are accustom to waiting for maps to load. Again, we waited fifteen or twenty minutes and still nothing. All that time I was searching for a possible solution on my end. I see the toggle for LOS in the Editing panel to the right of the map. Toggling this did not change anything for the players. I also see the toggle for each layer, changing this (there is only one layer currently) did not change anything for the players.

I could not see any other setting or toggle I could change that would effect the players view of the map.

Any help?

One thing I saw recently was a campaign name that had a trailing space it in. Try making sure your campaign name has no special characters or spaces. If that doesn't resolve it, can you show a screen shot of your image with the image control window open? Also please upload your logs and those of one player. They can be obtained using the "Compile Logs" button from the 'console' on the launcher. open the console from the launcher using the top left icon.

Try preloading images. That is click the share image option without anyone connected. Next time your players connect this will d/l the image. It just may be that you overloaded everything by sharing one big image to all your players at once and things went squirrelly.

You still did it via the Combat Tracker right? Portrait to CT and CT to map?

Hi LordEntrails: Thanks for the comment. I checked my Campaign name, no extra spaces (no spaces at all) in the name. Below are screen shot of a test session I did with one of my players. I will have her log also, but not until later. I thought I would start with screen shots and see where that gets me.

I tried with a couple different maps and a couple different configs.

1. Dungeon of the Mad Mage Level 1 Players map. Shared with player masked with the LOS turned on. 1 is my screen. 1a is player screen

42247

2. Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Level 17 Players Map. Shared with Player masked with LOS turned off. 2 is my screen 2a is players screen.

42249
42250

3. Dungeon of the map mage. Level 17 Players Map. Same as 2 but with LOS turned on. 3 is my screen 3a is players screen.

(see following post for additional photos and logs.)

Continuing with Condition 3 - players view

42252

4. Hermitage Players map from Ghost of Salt Marsh - Shared with player no mask LOS turned off.

42253
42254

5. Hermitage Players Map same as above with Mask and LOS turned on.

42255
42256

I have a couple of extensions loaded. My next step if no one comes back with a miraculous fix is to unload all of those and see if that helps. Beyond that I have run dry of ideas.

I have the logs of the sessions that produced these images, but I am not sure what the best log to upload is. Or would seeing all of them be helpful?

Thanks in advance for any help. CHeers

Do you also have the mask on as well as LoS - it seems you do in some of the screenshots. If you do have the mask on have you also cleared an area in the mask? Have you tried with just the LoS and no mask. Has the player clicked on their token after they have joined the game and you put the token on the map?

Just a shot in the dark here...

Are you keeping the combat tracker open after adding players to the map? I found that if I close the combat tracker, then players can no longer see the map.

That sounds like a bug. Doesn't happen with me, don't think it ever has.
