Connect to game on the same PC?

In Classic, we could join a game as a player on the DM's PC by using localhost. I assume we can have two instances of FGU running on the same PC - one as DM, the other as a connected player - but I'm not sure how to do it. I am sure I had it working a couple of days ago but now I get a 'We have detetced that FGU is already running ...' message.

If your campaign is "local" then connect from the second playing instance using localhost if it's a cloud game connect using the GMs name.

You usually get the FGU already running message if you're trying to do an update with FGU (OR FGC) already open.

I have tried a few things but without luck. It's not a huge deal because I have a second (very slow!) PC with a different login and can use that but I am curious.

Is your shortcut pointing to fantasyrounds.exe or to one of the updater files?
It should be pointing to the fantasygrounds.exe file.
