I'm new to this product. I purchased Fantasy Grounds Unity and installed it yesterday.

I purchased a D&D 5e DLC on Steam today. Steam promptly sent me an email purchase confirmation, then I looked to see how to download and install the content. When I tried to "Link to Steam" as a posting suggested, the provided button simply sent me in a loop right back to the Fantasy Grounds login every time.

I then checked for Steam downloads, which showed none pending. Then I went to my library page on Steam for this tool to look for the DLC. The Steam page said "You do not have any DLC for this game." I have requested a refund from Steam.

What is a working procedure for purchasing and installing addons to this tool?

Hi Ratahpla, welcome to FG.

You'll find details of how to link your Steam and Smiteworks accounts here. https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGU/pages/4163235/Linking+with+External+Services+and+Applications

Once you've done that just update FGU and your purchases will be installed.

Thanks for the advice. That is the procedure I was following. Pushing the button sent me back to the Fantasy Grounds login, however, and not to the page shown.

On a hunch, I tried a different browser, and I was able to proceed. As far as I know, my account is now linked to Steam. I'm more than a bit surprised it did not work with the Google Chrome browser. It isn't like the browser is horribly out-of-date, or that I have a lot of strange extensions. I imagine there is some issue with browser cookies.

Now, I'm trying to decide if I should throw more money at this or not. :) I'm not happy that Steam took my money and then turned around and told me I hadn't bought what it just sent me a receipt for.

Once I have bought DLC, does it download from Steam or from the FGU update?

All DLC downloads from Smiteworks. Steam is just a vehicle for purchases. It does show you DLC purchases in your Steam library (at least it does in mine for what little I bought trough Steam) but I think only once you've linked up your accounts and updated FG.
