Hi I bought the steam version of Fantasy Grounds Unity along side the other books as in the title but they are listed in my library as Fantasy Grounds Classic DLC which I did not buy.(I bought those books by looking through the FGU dlc list.) Do I have to buy both versions on the game to gain access to the books released prior to the unity version? If there is a prior post about this please link me there, I have been searching around for a few hours to no avail.
Side note I also bought the icewind Dale module released a couple months ago which did show up as FGU dlc.
I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting steam, and my computer.

I cannot say for certain, since I did not purchase on Steam, but maybe you need to link accounts?
See here (https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGU/pages/4163235/Linking+with+External+Services+and+Applications) for instructions.
If that is not it, someone else may have a better answer for you.
Oh, after syncing, make sure you use the Check for Updates button to download the content.
