Hello, I am wondering what is the most complete Star Wars Module available for FG.

Although I have a preference for SWFFG, I am considering either using Starfinder or 5E, or even another older SW system. I am really interested in Pathfinder, seems to be a great system, I am just not sure if it would be the best fit for this campaign. It will be a small campaign, 3-6 sessions, very x-com based. Planet is invaded by an alien force with superior technology. A resistance group is formed, they progressively acquire alien tech and in the end they find out they are either on Mass Effect universe, or in SW universe. I need to better feel the players to find out. That means the system that I will be using doesn't matter until the end of the campaign. If players decide to keep playing, that's where I am gonna need a more solid and developed system.

What you would recommend me?
Which module is the most complete in terms of Library content?

Also if you may know how to answer the same question for both a Mass Effect Scenario and X-Com scenario, I would appreciate. Should I create a separate Thread for those?

I found two SWFFG community creations, but I don't know which one should I use, or what are the difference between them.
I am also not sure what I should install. I mean I see there is a .pak file and a .mod file, but I don't know how many files I should be looking for, or where they are.

Those are the two that I found:
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24151-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Age-of-Rebellion-Force-and-Destiny-v2-ruleset
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?53302-Genesys-(FFG-RPG)-work-in-progress

One last thing, I know that in D&D there is an optimal order to fill the character sheet so FG better automate stuff.
How can I find out how to create characters and run games within those systems? I own the books, so I am familiar with the rules, but I never used FG for anything aside D&D5E.

Thanks.

For Near Future settings I'd recommend UltraModern5 Redux https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.php?id=IPFG5EUM5REDUX1

Alternately the Amethyst setting (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.php?id=IPFG5EDEM201623) might also be a good fit.

Those are the two that I found:
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...iny-v2-ruleset
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...rk-in-progress

The top one is dead and based on pre-Core way of making things. The second one is getting close to be complete and is quite usable. Johniba has done a great job on making it and is working with the community to make something special. I would highly recommand the second option. It will require some work on your part, since this is a community driven ruleset, but already it functions great.

Point of note: There will never be any complete modules for Star Wars. At best there can be "rules only"-modules made by the community, which is on its way. This is due to licensing idiocy and lawyers... online rpgs being computer games.. obviously. Anyways. Playing Star Wars will require some work by the GM. That's just a fact of life and not something the community can overcome completely. But what can be done is actively being worked on!

Stay tuned!

Until Smiteworks buys Disney and has access to all those IP lines...

Well... that depends if Disney manages to be complete idiots and give EA another 10 years of Star Wars exclusivity. I wouldn't bet against it.

I will take a look at the suggested systems. Thanks for your recommendation.
I am aware about the license issue and that we may never see an official ruleset. A shame, and not very smart on Disney/EA part.
Seeing how Disney is committed in destroying Star Wars forever, I would say another EA exclusive is in line.

Jokes aside, is there any Starfinder community Star Wars module?
I have no problem putting the work as a GM to make FFG works, I just don't know where to start. I have 64h to find out, and I am more than willing to learn. I manage myself well enough with D&D/FG.
I also couldn't find Age of Rebellion and Force and Destiny rules.

If you want to play FFG, I think the ruleset I am working on is the best way right now, or if you are running on FG Classic, you could still use the old ruleset, v2.

For Mass Effect, check out the Genesys community created setting here:
https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/300524-version-102-mass-effect-genesys-setting/

I think it is pretty awsome, and it uses Genesys, which is the parent ruleset for the new Star Wars ruleset, and although you would have to create all careers, npcs, races into a module, it is not too hard, just a matter of copying from the pdf into FG

Now lets talk about the current rulesets I am working on:
Genesys and Star Wars

https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?53302-Genesys-(FFG-RPG)-work-in-progress

You asked for the correct order in which to create a character. The answer would be: follow the rules in the books.
Currently nothing is automated. You will have to calculate xp, but you can drag and drop careers, races, etca into the character sheet. Nothing is being filled up automatically (automation will come soon, in a future release) so it is the weak point, I would say, but Genesys/Star Wars is not a hard system to create characters on...

For Star Wars, Sevrick has already uploaded one library, which is equivalent to the contents of the Star Wars Edge of the Empire core rulebook.

I can't thank you enough. This is amazing.
The Mass Effect community blows my mind. What a work, what dedication.

I have a question about the Star Wars content: How can I help?

Thank you so much.

The best way you can help right now, would be playtesting, and providing feedback with suggestions and reporting bugs and missing things

For content, you can talk to Sevrick. I think he is almost done with the new library, which will be Age of Rebellion and he will slowly create libraries until we cover all the official books
