View Full Version : [Unity 4.0.1] - Multi-selection does not work

The multi-selection does not seem to work. When I click Import File, the standard Windows "Open File" dialog box appears, which still allows single window to open. There is no way to select by dragging rectangle with the mouse or use ctrl or shift buttons for random or consecutive selections.

Another thing I noticed and it is only with unity - when the window opens and I browse to the directory with images, all .jpg or .png files are lacking thumbnails and takes ~10 seconds seconds for those to appear. This was not the behavior yesterday and it is not issue with Windows as absolutely every other program that I use for image manipulation (Affinity Photos, Designer, GIMP) does not experience that and the thumbnails are fetched properly from the OS.

Can confirm the former (the latter I didn't test) :)

Moreover, the import assets from campaign folder still creates files I already imported, resulting into multiples of the same image :) It looks like that the new image import stuff is accidentally not on the Live server?

Did you try the test channel?

PS: The thumbnails situation looks much better after 2-3 launches of unity, hopefully was one-time thing.

It is not on the test channel, but the dev channel has these new features :) Maybe indeed forgotten to be pushed?

This is working for me. What version is reported in the FGU launch screen? It should be v4.0.1 (2020-11-10).

I have precisely this versions, v4.0.1 (2020-11-10). But it only worked for me when I switch to the Dev server, the live server does somehow not have these features :) (I just tested again)

Can you update Live, and try again? We've been working on the patch server, and I'm wondering if the wrong build got set somehow.

Also, what OS is everyone using?

It still did not work for me :) Win10 (version 2004, systembuild 19041.572) :)

Same here. Can only select one file. The normal SHIFT or CTRL doesn't add to the selection - it just moves it to the file you are mousing over.

Hmm. Weird, since the Dev channel works for you.

Since we're doing some migration on the back end on the patch system, I just pushed a FGU client build using the old method to Live. Can you update again in Live to see if that gives you a version that does the multi-file select?

Yes, for some reason, everything works then there, I can select multiple files, and the import button for the files in my campaign folder looks different and creates no copies anymore :)

Ok, I just pushed a new build from scratch using the original tools. As noted in the City Hall, we've been working on some new patch system changes that I'm thinking might be why the versions weren't matching like they should.

Can you try a new Live update?

I also confirm that is works. And it is fabulous - the import files also detects duplicates.
THIS IS ALL I NEEDED I AM SO HAPPY NOW.
