View Full Version : Damage Resistance applying to wrong type

Hey all,

I'm playing a Pathfinder (1E) game and have a zombie with the effect "DR: 5/slashing". I have a player who attacked with a rapier (piercing damage) which is getting resisted by the zombie. I'm trying to figure out why it's being blocked, so I did some experimentation:

* Removing the effect -> rapier damage applied fully
* Renaming "slashing" to "piercing" in the effect -> rapier damage applied fully
* Changing damage type of rapier from "piercing" to "slashing" -> rapier damage applied fully
* Applying a different weapon of type "slashing" -> damaged fully

Any ideas why this is happening? Seems verifiable in a new PF game without any modules or extensions active too.

DR: 5/slashing means DR 5 to everything except slashing (https://www.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?Name=Damage%20Reduction&Category=Special%20Abilities).

Doh! Reread the rules on DR, realized I did indeed have that flipped. Thanks for pointing that out bmos! And thanks for the fantastic extensions :D
