View Full Version : Connection Test button for LAN Mode?

FG Classic has the buttons on the campaign load screen, that allow you to retrieve your external IP address and perform a connection test. When setting my FGU Ultimate server in LAN mode, I not given anything equivalent. Am I just missing something, or were those features omitted for FGU?

There is no plan to add a Test Connection button at this point. It requires us to host a script, and answer questions "why" peoples' connection tests are failing. We are trying to move people to using Cloud network facilitation so we aren't spending as much time supporting that model. That's why it's the default Server Type for campaigns.

We left in the LAN option for people that are running in at-home or Internet-disconnected games; or those that want to control everything about their connection. For those people, there are local commands and external tools to check port availability.

Yup that describes me; I don't want to put any servers or clouds between my FGU Ultimate host and my players' PCs.
