Whisper to GM?

I am able to whisper to my players using /w [name] [message] but when my players try doing /w GM [message] it won't let them, and indicate permissions aren't activated. How does the GM give players permission to whisper to the GM?

Right click on the dice tower and select whisper to gm

Not sure what you mean by the dice tower?

I'm wondering if the ruleset I'm using is somehow mucking things up. I'm using the Edge of the Empire ruleset from here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?24151-Star-Wars-Edge-of-the-Empire-Age-of-Rebellion-Force-and-Destiny-v2-ruleset

Maybe it somehow removed the option?

The players can whisper to the GM by typing /w GM <text>; in other words instead of using the character name use DM.

The dice tower won't show for the DM unless the DM has the show DM rolls and the dice tower options both switched on. I don't know if the ruleset you are using has such options.

That's the problem, they try typing that and get an error that says those permissions have not been turned on or some such.

I'm gonna guess it doesn't. Show DM rolls is definitely on, but I don't see any dice tower option anywhere.

I don't know that ruleset at all so I don't know what options that it has. I''d suggest that you post in the thread which discusses the ruleset so the developer gets to see it (if there is one).

GM whisper may not be supported or may have a different method than described here. I would ask in that thread since you will get responses from the folks who know that ruleset the best.

I just took a look at the ruleset in question, and it does not appear to be built on top of CoreRPG. There is no inherit tag in the base.xml. So all the suggestions and features mentioned here are not likely to work. Most rulesets inherit and are dependant on the CoreRPG ruleset which includes all those features like whisper to GM, dice tower, etc. But this one is not.
