What happened to the New Turn Sound?

So there used to be a nice sort of ringing sound in FGU that signalled your turn. But suddenly this has changed to one of the Windows sounds... will this change back again? That sound is absolutely horrible and completely destroys the immersion.

No. It used to play the OS system sound. However, we found out that API is not supported in either Mac or Linux; and actually causes issues. So, it had to be changed. We may look at changing the sound in the future, but leaving for now.

Perhaps allow the client to define their sound would be an option. That way they can define what they want to hear, as opposed to a single default sound.

This. That would be the most ideal I'd say?

Is the sound tied to the server or the user? It should be tied to the user that way every user can define their own sound.

That leads to a slippery slope of everyone wanting their own sound, sound information having to be passed around per user, sound mixing and more. As I mentioned, it may be something we look at in the future, but not at this point. Most likely, we'll at a slightly more neutral sound in the short term.
