This is not a bug reporting just a issue that I notice when playing fantasy ground unity campaign and I think can be easily resolved.
DND 5th edition
Out of the abyss campaign
Windows 10
As I said while playing, I was using the experimental pit line of sight feature. As you may or may not know the map of Mantol-Derith holds a central trench which the players walk down when they enter the city via a tunnel, it has 50ft walls I tried using the pit feature to adapt the map so the players can’t see above the trench but this block of line of sight and movement to the tunnel which they just come from, and if I open it then they see the city and the point of line of sight is lost. I tired adapting the door feature, but the problem arises that as soon as you or the just one player open the door everyone in the trench can see above it.
I was wondering if you could maybe change the pit feature so that this problem could be resolved or could advise me on how the overcome this.

The pit LOS is not meant to be a solution for canyons or trenches, just simple enclosed trap areas. We currently don't have a solution for trenches and canyons; because they require a different beast. We currently use terrain occluders on each edge of large elevation changes to provide some sense of that. It may be something we look at in the future.

As referred to by Moon, what I do in these situations is to make a terrain occlude on the 5 feet on each side of a trench. This means that folks on the edge can see fully into the trench and those inside the trench can see those on the edge. Of course, this doesn't work for folks on the edge seeing all the way across to the other side... :( But, it's the best I've come up with at this time (unless I can predict where the players are and then adjust occluders based on that)

I updated the OotA maps just last week and used the pit occluder for that trench. It isn't ideal since the trench is divided by a couple of bridges. At any rate if you hold down the SHIFT key whilst moving the player tokens you can move them into the trench and out of the tunnel without them seeing any more than they should.
