View Full Version : Token Locking Final Waypoint

How does one change the final destination of a player's proposed movement? I've tried alt, ctrl, shift-left clicking, and it always makes a new waypoint. If my player proposes to move thirty feet in a straight line, I must be able to just adjust that one waypoint back to the point where I want him to encounter a trap, NPC, etc. So far the only workaround I've found is to extend the movement backward with a new waypoint, then take the original destination waypoint and merge it with one of the others. This quickly becomes ridiculously inefficient with complex moves.

Also, there doesn't appear to be any right click menu functionality associated with the token locking system. While I'm not always in love with Fantasy Grounds' UI, it has taught me one thing... When looking for additional functionality: Right Click! To right click on a waypoint and not see any option to remove that waypoint really goes against the learned language of this UI system.

I believe that escape cancels the last point (before it is set). Otherwise you can cancel the entire movement by starting the movement again. Or as you have discovered dragging a point back to a previous point. There is no right click to remove; the only right click is on a map to enable or disable token locking.

You can also use the pit LoS to mark trap areas; players shouldn't see the "pit" when hovering over the area, but it will block the planned movement once it crosses the pit :) You can then "close the pit" once the trap mechanism is handled to allow movement and vision again :)

And I have a suggestion for devs: How about a trap "LoS"/area? That works exactly like a pit but does not blocks vision once inside, just for the purpose of blocking movement when triggering the trap :) (except when it is actually a pit, then pit LoS is better :D)

I'd love to have a way of deleting and/or moving the final waypoint rather than dealing with the overly complex "add a new waypoint back down the line then move the final waypoint onto it to get it to merge" workaround. This is too complex a procedure for what should be a simple operation (I'm not claiming it's simple to code, but it should be much more simple to use).

Cheers,

Simon

I know. I'm suggesting that this needs to be rectified.

Yep, need an easier way to remove last placed waypoint.
