View Full Version : CoreRPG OpenDyslexic2 Font Extension - Unity

This extension changes all CoreRPG in-game fonts to use the OpenDyslexic2 (https://opendyslexic.org/) font (a typeface designed against some common symptoms of dyslexia).
It really helps with readability, by reducing the visual similarities of different letters.

Get it on FG Forge (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/27/view)

If using the dark version, it will look best with the theme Sir Motte's Magnificent Darkness - Hearth Edition (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/12/view) from which it gets its colors.
If struggling to read the text of the hotkey items, consider using MeAndUnique's Bartender extension (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/55/view).

If you have suggestions regarding changes to font size, please post your operating system, what UI scale you are using (you can check by typing "/scaleui" in chat--without the quotes), and your computer monitor resolution.

Here's a small update.
It adjusts a couple font sizes and improves compatibility with 3.5E/Pathfinder (3.5E adds two font definitions which I had not included here).

I would like to change the font of the character sheet tabs, but can't seem to find the name of the font definition being used.

EDIT: see first post

They are actually images.
You would need to create the tab label images again and include them in the extension.

Here is version 1.2.
It removes the color tags so that this will work better in darker themes that might have had their colors overwritten.

EDIT: see first post

I love this font, it is great with CoC v7 ruleset. There is a littl problem with colors though.42361 the texte is black, not easy to read. With roboto font it is white 42362
I don't know if you can coorect that. Good job anyway.

No it was just a test with the dark theme. I noticed this minor problem with the Call of Cthulhu ruleset, i use it a lot. But if it can be solved easily, it does not matter :) Don't waste your time on a second package.

Its not an issue with the Call of Cthulhu ruleset. Its the combination of Call of Cthulhu, the Dark Theme and this extension.

Indeed it is not an issue with CoC ruleset. I don't combine usually the dark theme and CoC ruleset. In fact it seems that Open Dys appears black with all rulesets +/- whatever themes. Here is an example of Opendys with Traveller ruleset and no theme applied 42424 and with Roboto 42425.
And here is Opendys With Traveller ruleset + Winter theme 42426, compared to Traveller + Winter theme with Roboto 42427. In fact it seems that Opendys stay black and never turn to the color chosen by the ruleset/theme.

The Roboto font doesn't change all the fonts.
I do. I will make a light and dark version, although depending on theme even that will be hit-or-miss.
I wish there was a way to just use the color normally used by theme...

There is currently an issue with how this font is appearing in 4.1.14.

Sorry this took so long, but I have uploaded new versions to the Forge that solve the size issues introduced last year.

Loadorder is now 1501 so it overrides the Hearth Theme fonts.

The "light" version has now been delisted and both versions are packaged together in what was previously the "dark" version.
Unfortunately this means that any users of the light version will have to re-subscribe on the FG Forge (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/27/view).

Something funky is going on again, titles on maps and window titles are now dark on dark

Just posted v1.5 to the Forge. File here if needed.
No more light/dark versions, at least until/if Hearth gets updated.
