View Full Version : How do we define map scale for a map in FGU?

Probably a stupid question, but... I have a large map that has hexes that are 1/4 mile per hex. If I draw the hexes with the mapping tools in FGU to match the size in the map they come out to width 21x21 on the sidebar. When I draw a line or some other graphic indicator it will say one hex is 5'. How do I define 1 hex as 1320'?

This extension might do it, but I don't know if it works with hex grids https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?39463-MUSE-Map-Unit-Settings-Extension-(CoreRPG)

Ah I thought it was an FGU setting someplace. And after reading the thread you gave it appears tokens are always = to 1 grid space no matter what. Thanks for the info was helpful. I'll have to think what I really want to do here.

That extension, which I just downloaded and started using, works pretty well with hex grids (I'm using the GURPS ruleset). Not 100% perfect, and sometimes it says something is one hex away when it is clearly two (which is a FG issue, not the extension). It's great that I can now have my battle maps be one yard hexes, another map (depicting part of the world) as 100 yard hexes, and the mainland map 6 mile hexes. I wish we could get the range fixed in FG when using hexes (it displays the right distance if one holds down on ALT or CTRL, can't recall which, and move the character back in the grid a bit, and it seems to only happen with one yard/two yards on diagonals).
