Hello

I just ported over my FGC campaign (going with 4 PCs for about 8 months) to FGU. Frist off I'm already happy with the fact it didn't crash while open any of the big image files (playing Dungeon of the Mad Mage with lot of hi-res detailed maps), and the LOS is super cool and the players loved it, and as the GM i love not having to worry about applying and removing the Mask constantly as the players explore the dungeon. But I do have a few questions/concerns;

- I noticed some lagging as the PC tokens move after accepting a move. I imagine this is one of those things that heavily effected by the fact its an online game and with the dynamic LOS there's a lot that needs to be adjusted for very grid square a token moves so this is the kind of thing that will only get better with time as the software continues to evolve and be improved upon

- for the LOS, as the tokens move around and areas are revealed, once the token no longer has a direct line of sight to a previously revealed are the areas becomes dimmed (i believe its called the Fog of War) so the players can still see it on the map, but are aware they don't have a Line of Sight. this feature is fantastic, but was wondering if there was a war to set an unexplored area to the Fog of War, i.e. for if a NPC gives the players a map then reveal sections of the map as explored but out of Line of Sight? I found where you can reset the Fog of War, but I would love to be able to expand it either for the whole party of individual characters

- for the Token movement and locking, the PCs have no trouble moving their tokens by making movement requests and I the GM accepting them, but in FGC you used to be able to Hold the Ctrl key and then drag any token and it would move in the same way as when the PCs move their tokens, but i cant figure out how to do this in FGU.

- with the LOS feature it now makes it easier to reveal enemy tokens, by setting then to Sensitive Visibility but is there a way to make this the default when a token is added to a map or called back to a map when an encounter is added to the combat tracker? May you can mass select all token on the map and change the settings all at once? I've try to do that and i cant figure out how

that's kind of all i have for now, I'm sure if i think of those I'll come back for more help.

Much appreciation for taking the time to read this and even responding!

-Matt

Yes, there is some lag on big maps with LoS. It is being looked at.

No you can't artificially reveal an area of LoS if the player's tokens haven't been in that area.

Hold ALT and drag to move tokens instead of CTRL (DM side only).

There is no way to change the default visibility behaviour except on a token by token basis. The default behaviour is mask sensitive (as far as I know) same behaviour as in Classic.

You can use Shift+drag tokens to prevent them from revealing LoS while moving. I typically use this to move tokens between different floors of a building on the same map, but you could use it to temporarily move a token that contributes to party vision to some place on the map you want revealed. It's a bit of a workaround, but seeing as I don't think there's a huge demand for such a feature, I think it might be what you're stuck with to achieve this effect.

Thanks for the help.

I tried holding the ALT and the dragging, but when I click on the token it just disappears, I assume its being deleted. looking at my settings it Looks like i had the 5e Enhancer Extension and it's setting for "Token Deletion button combination" set to "ALT + L-Click" so that seems to explain that. I changed that but, i still can't do the Hold ALT to drag for creating a path for the Token showing travel distance. I'll try and find the 5e Enhancer post on the forum and pose the question there, maybe that's creating my conflict.

thanks,

UPDATE: i just disabled the 5e Enhancer Extension and now the ALT movement controls work. It also didn't help that all the setting for deleting tokens reset itself when i re-launch the software

DUDE! that perfect, thanks a bunch. That will work until we have some like Fog of War Pre-Reveal control.

Thanks,

I added a feature request for this on the FGU wish list. Vote for it :-)
