I am wondering how this can be automated. I have seen extensions that can expend spell slots, so the spell level can be read. Could an effect be created that can be applied to a character that fires anytime a heal spell is cast that would apply 2 + the spell level?

I mean all we need is the value of the spell level + 2 and then add that to the dice roll. All of those things can be done individually, correct?

Thanks,

Hi Psloni welcome to FG.

You can add an effect of HEAL: x where x is a number equal to 2 + the spell level and apply that just before the healing roll is made. You'd need one for each possible level that the Cleric has healing spells for - so if for example they had a 4th level heal spell the effect would be HEAL: 6

So you are saying that the current way this is handled is to add a new "spell" that represents the 2 + spell level. I would need one for each of levels 1 - 9, correct?

Now way to read and add the spell level huh? hmm.

No, there isn’t an effect which will read the spell level. There is also the problem of upcasting spells like casting a first level spell using a 3rd level slot. FG has no way of knowing that is the player’s intention. So the compromise would be to use the HEAL with all the possible totals.

Unless you are using "5e Spell Automation" extension.
Sorry for the shameless plug ;)

Update: as for original question, I would simply add additional action to each healing spell with appropriate heal to self (e.g. 3 for Cure Wounds).
This will not scale with upcasting, but it is better than nothing.
If FG would allow adding custom dice to heal and damage (e.g. /die [1d5]), my extension could automate upcasting as well, but alas...

I did it that way. Just click on the effectbutton before you roll the healing dice
