Effect to block or negate Long or Short rest?

Is it possible to have an effect that makes it impossible for a PC to take a long rest?

Not that I've heard of. I guess the DM would either have to apply rests to the individual PCs (there is a way to do this, but I don't remember how) or remove the PC from the CT before applying the rest :(

You can right click on the PC character sheet to enable a long or short rest to individual PCs.
