Hello, I'm brand new to using fantasy grounds as we've been online since the whole Covid thing started and it doesn't look like that's going to change for a while. So I'm trying to move an existing character into Fantasy Grounds and having some problems.

I have a Forest Gnome Wizard. From what I can tell there is no easy way to run a forest gnome in this software? Does anyone have a work around?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.

Sure. Very easy...
First, do you or the DM own the sourcebook that you want to take the race from? In the Forest Gnome case this is the Player's Handbook. Have you loaded it? (Library > Modules > Load)
If so, then all you have to do is drag the race to your character sheet and you will get a pop-up window that looks like this and will allow you to chose your sub-race.

If you do not own the PHB, then you will either have to create the sub-race (there are tutorials for this) or you can just type in the info straight into your character sheet.

There are videos for all of that, or the user manual, or the wiki and even the forums have step-by-step character creation guides. What format do you like to learn from? We can link the correct type if you let us know.

Sigh. Apparently the PHB wasn't loading. It works now. False alarm...
