Artificer Class and Eldritch Cannon

Hey folks, how are you guys in FGU, 5e, handling a PC Artificer Class that uses Eldrige Cannon. I looked in the forums and also looked in the game stats/asses for anything on this, but I am out of luck...I will note that I have purchased the FGU book for Eberron.

What I did as a DM was to create an NPC record for the cannon. There isnt an automated way to do the HP, so I just put a note in the field that its 5*caster level and adjust it accordingly. Once I have it in the Ct, I just leave it there. When its not summoned, I make it invisible to the players.
