Hi.

I posted a suggestion in the Ideainformer for Fantasy Grounds. However, I don't know if this is technically possible.

This is the idea (https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/proj/?ia=134384).

In short, it suggests to use svg files to be read as walls in maps. The FG should open both files in parallel as layers, the png/jpg file (the actual map) and the svg (the walls lines). Is this possible?

This would be a great way to make custom wall in maps outside FG.

Possible? Sure, feasible with existing architecture? No.

FGU walls are defined using straight line segments defined with vertices in xml. Its actually not too difficult to interpret and their are a couple of mapping tools that have started generating the FG xml.

So, all you would need to do is to convert the svg file into a correctly formatted FG xml file, and then FGU would need no other interface.

So, you mentioned that a couple of mapping tools have started generating the FG xml. What are theses?

I have the Illwinter Foorplan Generator, and it can export maps with Roll20 or Foundry walls, but not FG. Dungeon Painter looks that cannot export wall settings, at least for now.

I know of two:

Arkenforge https://arkenforge.com/
DunGen (random map generator): https://dungen.app/dungen/

I'm pretty sure there's at least one more.

While DungeonDraft does not have FGU conversion natively in the application (currently), there is a script that someone wrote and posted here on the boards that you can run on the VTT exported files from DungeonDraft to make convert them for FGU. I've found it to work wonderfully so far and the Forgotten Adventures asset packs really help make the maps look alive and in an aesthetic that I like for my maps.
