Okay folks, I've bought FG2 and so far so good. My brother and I are updating the ruleset for AD&D 2e and all is well. Mostly well.
We've updated the monsters mod and got all the Monster Manual text in, and expanded the tabs down the right hand side of the monster sheet. Herein lies the problem. I need to create new tabs with different text on them. It isn't a problem, really, but I'd like to use the same font as the original tabs. But they're all FGF files.
Any idea as to which TTF to use in the art package I choose to use? Or perhaps someone could point me in the direction of a FGF to TTF converter?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The font generator is stickied at the top (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2556).

Thanks, but I'm not sure you picked up on my actual question. I want to use the existing fonts, not create my own. I want to be able to create new graphics with the existing fonts on them.
As a side question - why are they proprietary? What's wrong with using normal font files? Surely a copyright would cover it if you'd designed them yourself?

I believe that the reason for using the FGF is that those are bitmap fonts instead of using true-type fonts which are vectors.

This is something that's been asked for quite awhile now. I don't think the devs ever got around to answering it. So far I haven't been able to find a font that resembles the one used either.

Excellent. Thanks. Seeing as it's all gone quiet on this thread, I will see what I can do with existing fonts.

Yes, it has to do with the permissions when it comes to fonts. I am not sure what the actual fonts SW uses, (But I have a pretty good idea which... :) ) but part of licensing for font use has to do with whether the fonts are distributed as is, modified, and distributed in a format that is not usable outside of the application in question. (Like converting the TTF into a bitmap image...)
What this does is free up the devs from having to pay huge costs to maintain a distributable font, which are usually sold on a package/user transfer basis.
Hope that clears it up. :)
