Pathfinder 2e animal companion feature?

Messing with the system, I haven't figured out how to create the animal companion yet. Is it just creating the animal as a pc and having the player take control of it also or do I do something else? Do I need the beastiary 2 for the animal companions? Or am I overlooking the drag and drop features somewhere? Thanks for any responses and yes i've looked on here and found nothing similar. Or maybe i overlooked it.

For PF2 specific questions you're best asking them in the Pathfinder 2.0 forum - better chance of people interested in PF2 seeing the question.
