View Full Version : Spells Incomplete - Unity Issue or PF2 Issue?

We were play-testing a PF2 adventure in Unity last week and noticed a couple spells did not have all their actions - A specific example: Electric Arc (sorcerer cantrip) had no damage action.

Two questions:
- Is this a Unity issue or a PF2 issue?
- Is this a known issue or do I need to report it (and where)?

Thanks!

Spells in the core rules don't have hard coded actions. FG makes an attempt to parse the actions from the description text when the spell is added to the character sheet. As Paizo don't use any standard wording (unlike WotC, who use pretty standard wording for D&D 5e and make it easier to identify actions) the parsing of actions is very hit or miss.

The PF2 dev team are, among product conversions, slowly working their way through adding various hard coded automation in various aspects of the PF2 data. We haven't got to spells yet...

Thanks for the info - We know to roll with it manually for the time being.

Much appreciated!

BrandonYou should also be able to right click on the spell to add an additional action so you only have to set it up once rather than full manual each time. (unless that is different than 1e)

It's basically the same process as PF1e - you can add actions to the spell once in a character sheet. You can't add actions to a spell through the FG interface from the "Spells" campaign data list.

EDIT: With the recent Release 18 PF2 ruleset update you can add spell actions to the base spell record. We're going through the released products and updating the spells to contain the required action - it's a slow process as we juggle other PF2 development activities.
