First, thank you for ANY input. Not a seasoned script guy. Idiots guide reader all the way. I am wondering if it is possible to create an effect that will cause an enemy to take damage if they attack a character and have this work in combat tracker. So as an example, you have a power of spell that surrounds you in fire and anyone who strikes you takes 1d4 fire damage. Can or is there a way to write this as an effect that functions automatically in combat tracker? Again, thank you. If this information exists elsewhere I apologize but i couldn't find it.

No, there isn't a way to do this automatically because there isn't a way to test for something being hit. You would just have to create a damage effect for the 1d4 fire and drag that onto the target whebever the circumstances were right.

There is an extension on dmsguild that might be be able to do it but I haven't tested it out. (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/312979/Fantasy-Grounds-Automatic-Return-Damage)
