So, we continued our Mad Mage campaign yesterday. Everyone was on the LAN so all connections were local, but I had 3 clients connected wirelessly to my FGU Ultimate server.
Not.A.Hitch.
The performance was awesome, even when I loaded multiple encounters on different areas of the map into the combat tracker .. totaled probably close to 30 players/NPCs, had LOS on, etc. The three clients were laptops in various performance ranges, and even the old one performed well enough to use productively. We played for probably 8 hours or so without a crash, without anyone getting kicked, without any hiccups at all.
That session cemented it for us - we'll not be using FGC again and are moving to FGU exclusively.
Are there still things that don't work quite right? Probably.
Did I notice those things? Not for what we were doing.
Did the development state of FGU affect the session at all? Nope. YMMV, but not for us.
Thanks SmiteWorks!
