Hello,

I bought Fantasy Grounds a couple of days ago and wow, this is so fun. I think this will convince me to get my old roleplaying gang back after 20 years without this type of gaming.

I have noticed that the best way to learn is to create characters and set up battles and try other things that you know occurs in a session. And the best thing is that most questions I have had could be answered with a google search.

But one question I cannot find the answer to is if it possible to transfer powers from one character to a new. Now I mean the powers I have created myself such as "Song of Rest" (monk), unarmed attack (monk) and a few others. What I am wondering is do I need to manually create these every time someone wants to roll a monk or can I somehow copy these selfcreated powers to other characters from an already existing character?

Thanks in advance!

Drag and drop baby. Everything in Fantasy Grounds is built around this idea. If you don't know how to do something, always try to drag and drop first.

If you made a weapon or attack (top part of the actions tab) you'll want to drag from the inventory of the old character to the inventory of the new character. I prefer to keep all these in an items group that I save as a module so I can use it in new campaigns. You can drag it from the actions tab, but sometimes the results are wonky.

If you made a power or ability (in the bottom part of the actions tab) then you can drag it from the actions tab to the actions tab. You can even drag it from the actions tab to the abilities tab. Or drag it into a story entry so you can save it in a module and use it in a future campaign.

Here's a link to LordEntrails' awesome guide on how to make a module: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?33538-Adventure-Module-Creation-Best-Practices

You can create these yourself to copy/use repeatedly as you have asked, including racial abilities/traits, status effects, etc. It is suggested that you do this within a "Sand-box/Creative/Tester" campaign. You can then create a Module including whichever bits you choose, such as Class/Race/Setting specific Items/NPCs/Powers/Traits/Etc. Then you can load these into a campaign in which you would like to use them.
