Melee and Ranged attack bonus

I'm not sure if this is something I misunderstoos since the begining off d20 or just a bug but shouldn't the size modifier apply to melee and ranged attack and not just grapple?

I verified my stufff and I read that melee = BAB + STR mod. + Size mod.?

Am I right on thi one? Or for so long I just gave the gnome playing in my campaign and +1 for being a small race bonus?

You're right in that the size modifier applies to your melee and ranged attacks (such as the +1 for small creatures). However, grappling uses a different set of size modifiers (small creatures get -4). Therefore, you need to just add in the size modifier into your attack bonuses because there is no field for them in the program. There's a field for the grappling modifier because it plays a larger role in grappling.
