Hey folks, I am trying to setup one of the maps from Highndry module at the correct scale but it doesn't seem like the fantasygrounds grid system can be made smaller than 1.0 scale.

Each hex in the Traveller ruleset seems to be set for 1.5 meters (which is fine) but on the Startown map for example it does not seem possible to reduce the grid scale small enough to have it match the image (it would need to be below 1.0).

Any ideas?

thanks

I myself only use maps for any combat.

If there's a larger scale map that can't be scaled down I tend to use Theatre of the Mind, or I locate (ahead of time) one of the many maps I've purchased and apply a 'best fit'.

I know this isn't very helpful, but that's how I cope.

Cheers,
MBM

thanks but I figured it out.

1). set the grid scale to the smallest size possible (1.0)
2). scale the map to be larger such that the grid scale matches the scale on the map
3). zoom out/ fit to window

Now the grid scale (though tiny) aligns with the map scale.

Which of course means we can now draw pointers to measure distance on the map accurately.

Woot.

I use different scale maps in such an incident. A big one to give them a feeling, where they are in the world and a few small ones as "close in" for battles at al.
Helps tell the story and dirigate incidents.
