I'm struggling figuring out how to get players to join my game. What I can fund says I need to give them my alias or my GM name, but we tried that and several numbers I found and nothing worked.

What do I and my players each need to do in order to start playing?

Is this in Classic or Unity?

In Classic your players connect via your external IP address or Alias. In the load campaign screen you will see a button that you can use to generate your external IP address or to create an alias. Whichever one you choose to use give that to your players. You'll alos need to press the test button to see if your network is set up correctly. If that shows a failure then see here for help in getting that sorted. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?47051-Fantasy-Grounds-Connections-Explained

In Unity you can start a Cloud game and if you make it public your players will see you in the lobby list and select your name and click connect. If you make it private they'll need to type your name into the Join By box.

Are you using FGU or FGC?

I have FGC Ultimate. I tested the network and it said it was fine. I generated the things and my player was unable to connect for whatever reason.

Make sure your player and you are on the same version. There was a change in FGU's networking code recently, ie you both s/b on 4.0.0 (2020-07-16) at the moment

Who is your ISP? If it is one of these that could be the issue https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?53461-Comcast-XFinity-Cox-and-Shaw-Communications-Users-Important
