View Full Version : Magic items showing as normal items in party inventory..?

Hi guys and gals,

I'm setting up Curse Of Strahd for my friends after recently completing LMOP. I haven't got the digital version of LMOP, so I've added in a Ring Of Protection +1 and Mace +1 from the DM Guide module and dragged them into the Party Inventory. They show up fine for me, but when the players go to the Inventory all the can see is Signet Ring and Refined MAce. Any idea what's going on?

Mark them identified. Red/green icon in the top right corner of each item.

Excellent, that worked perfectly. Apart from the Ring Of Protection +1 which doesn't appear to have any effect. Odd...

Magic items generally do not automatically produce effects if that's what you mean; you'll need to set up the effects yourself. I'll take a look. What confused me was that the +1 Armour and +1 Weapon worked without adding an effect. I could see the bonus in the character sheet.

Yes, magical armour and weapons automatically add a bonus to armour or attack and damage rolls. However other magic items don't automatically add effects.
