Hi, first time user, got FG unity to host games for my friends. First guy sends me his char. sheet of a human-variant druid with the magic initiate feat(cleric). I managed to get everything else on the sheet except for the feat and of course the associated spell list. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong? Also , of minor inconvenience, there is no herbalism kit in the PHB although it is mentioned in the Hermit background, PHB 134. We can easily deal with this, but the feat not working is a larger bother.

Welcome :)

"working"? Most feats/abilities/etc are not automated directly on the character sheet.

For this one, all you need to do is open up on the spells and drag the two desired cantrips and the 1st level spell to the actions tab, just like any other spell. If desired you can change their group so you know where they come from. Personally I leave them in the default group, but on the Feat line I add which spells the character took.

If that doesn't make sense, let us know and we can point you to videos or other guides that detail the process :)

The Herbalism Kit is in Tools under Kits/Set.

I'm not sure what your issue is with the Magic Initiate feat. Open the abilities tab and drag the feat into the feat section. You then have to choose a class and learn two cantrips from that class's spell list. So if you chose Wizard then go to spells in the Library list of the PHB; select Wizard and you'll see a list of cantrips. Drag two of those into the characters action tab. Set the correct ability to use in the Power group that is created.

Thanks, your solution worked fine, it's just jarring that up to that point, everything else popped a tab with the extra choices and whatnot, whereas here it seems like I have to "homebrew" the feat. Thanks again!

I always go through the Abilities tab after adding all the options etc. Go through each entry, read it, and then update the character sheet as needed. Something you will want to add to the actions tab (like Channel Divinity, Magic Initiate, etc) and some things are already taken care of. Also, I don't make a lot of characters, but things that effect AC might also not be fully automated (Unarmored Defense, etc), so check those.

There is a new character wizard in beta (see sticky) that will be adding to the character automation and ease of creation.
