View Full Version : Terrain acting as doors on latest

I updated today and found that when creating line of sight terrain they now act as doors - meaning they can be opened.

This doesn't seem right. Is it a bug or a feature?

Where would I report a bug if it was?

That's by design.

Terrain features have always been capable of being 'opened'. The idea of the terrain feature is that tokens can see into but not out of the terrain feature unless they are actually standing on it in which case they can see out of it in all directions. The DM has always been able to 'open' (basically remove) such objects. The players have no such control over terrain features. They can only interact with unlocked doors.

Huh, having the ability to open terrain is not something I've noticed before. I knew tokens can be placed in it to see out, but not that there was an open/close option.

Ignore me then. Many thanks for your speedy replies!

Don't think of it as open/close. Think of it as on/off.

One might put terrain on the roofs of buildings in a town, but if the PCs are flying the DM might want to turn them off. It allows you to prep for one case, but play another.
