Hi

Any idea why my port forwarding would fail after each update. I've to fix it by deleting settings, retyping it, then rebooting router each time.

Ater each what update?
Fantasy Grounds? Windows? Antivirus? Router firmware? Router WAN IP? DHCP Address?

Fantasy grounds classic, windows 10, norton, Wan IP 197.82.216.147, router is a D-link DSL-2750U and no clue what DHCP address is... but I tend to get port forwarding working after redoing everything

Most likely cause is your router is periodically giving you a different DHCP address making the Port Forward rule invalid.
If that is what is happening you can probably set your router to always give your PC the same DHCP address.

Can you forward me to a site that could help me configure that setting, please?

Hi

So I didn't reserve my DHCP, but instead factory reset my router (after messing with DHCP completely killed my internet connection), which got things to work, but now 2 weeks later, the connection is failing again.
What is in in the portforwarding setting, that I need to change, to reflect the DHCP change every 2 weeks?

Regards and thanks in advance

UPDATE: I can't reserve my DHCP, ISP won't allow it

Your DHCP address is on the LAN side - your ISP has no control of it - you do.

Did you try the link Zacc sent you to?

Try portforward.com/fantasygrounds

Very useful site. You enter your router model and your isp and it provides information tailored to that data. Its how i configured FG at my parents and they have a completely different isp and router than i do.

I was hosting games in 10 minutes.

Fyi this site includes directions on reserving an IP

You don't want to reserve your IP address at the ISP level. What you want to do is reserve the IP address of your local computer that you run FG on. This will allow you to setup port forwarding to that locally reserved IP address once.

See the DHCP reservation list on page 30 in your router's user guide here: https://global.dlink.com.sg/site_support/DSL-2750U/Manual/DSL-2750U_T1_Manual_v1.pdf

Sounds like the settings weren't right. What did you enter for the DHCP reservation?
