Looking to learn more about how to employ effects onto player characters and was hoping to locate some videos to assist with utilizing effects in game play along with how to create custom effects.

Look in the sticky threads at the top of the 5E sub forum. This is where things like this are linked.

There's a sticky thread called "Guides, videos and other helpful information" within that thread you'll find links to many videos, including a series on effects.
