Is there a way to choose how many points to use rather than have to dump the whole lot in one go?

Which ruleset? If you post these questions in the ruleset specific forum, we don't have to guess :)

Generally what I do for low level characters is just make the heal 1 point. Then once the character has gained a few levels make the heal 5 points. You can set up various healing amounts if you want to be more complex, but then tracking how many you have used becomes an issue.

Type the number and drag into HP perhaps?

I have it setup to heal just the 1 point so that I can just right-click to add as many HP I am going to heal since there are many times I will heal an oddball # of HP.

I guess I should setup a 2nd action value of 5 HP to use just in case the Paladin is doing a cure disease or such since that requires a 5 HP value each time.

So how does this work?
How do I set this so it does 5hp per "cast"?

In the bonus field enter the amount you want to have it heal, like "5". Delete the extra rows.

Good Day Markd102 :)
I would suggest making one for 1 HP another for 5 HP and, as they level and can cast higher, 10 and 20 just to save clicks to heal more. :)

This is exactly what I recommend. One additional thing would be when in Preparation mode, Change the # per day to the total # of uses (at 1 HP each value) the Paladin can use (i.e. if a 5th level Paladin then the # would be 25). This way you can check off each 1 HP you use or 5 of them if used at that mode. This way you can see how many more uses are available because it will created check off boxes just like Ammo on a weapon (when in Combat mode view); this helps to see when all your uses are done as it will then hide the ability. I do this same type of thing for stuff like Druid Wildshape.

These are pics of the # of Uses and also how 1HP and 5HP are setup:

I don't understand how you get two separate heal buttons for the 1 and 5. When I add a 2nd value it just stacks.

Thanks

Go up one level and Add New Effect. i.e. Don't add another die roll, add a whole new effect within the action.
