This is great - since I switched to Savage Worlds 6 weeks ago after 10 years of slavery. I am curious how the ruleset handles the wild die and the initiative cards. Is it possible to role both dice at once. Are players dealt cards?

Thx ahead.

Hi Ilwan,

Unfortunately, there is no way to deal cards in this version Fantasy Grounds. We use a /die mechanic to determine cards in this version, and Wild Dice and initiative is tracked with a image-tracker and tokens. We've had several play test sessions, and it works very well. We also give card tokens to keep visual track of things.

The good news is that we've already figured out how to deal cards in FGII, and we'll have that for the upgrade of the SW product to that version. As of right now we don't have a release date for the FGII version (in addition to the actual FGII release), but it is definitely on the radar!

Thanks!!

As one of the guys who worked on it - as well as the chief playtester - I can honestly say it handles everything pretty dang well considering the limitations we have with v1.05f :)

This is definitely NOT a d20 ruleset - it looks, and feels completely different :)

As for conversions - well...its on my list of things to do ;) Just as soon as I get settled in denmark here in a couple of days :)

I will be posting for an SW campaign in the near future - as soon as I get settled, and have a chance to organize some thoughts :)

Also look for more goodies for the SW ruleset ;)

Well - I can honestly say - working on Savage Worlds was a dream come true for me :) Kevin and the gang were great to work with :) And I can't wait to see some of the other things in my head come to life ;)

As I said - once I'm settled, and find out if I have a job right away in Denmark, I may be putting a call out for an SW campaign, as well as "Savage World" intro sessions for people who are interested in this fantastic system :)

I'd really like to be in an intro session. I always like trying new game systems.

So, hurry up and move, get settled and get a job!

:)

Good luck on the move.

Welcome to Denmark, it's nice these days.

I am curious - although I haven't done FG in a while. My groups are all back here in Copenhagen and as I said, we´ve changed to SW. Ill problably get the ruleset anyway - to get the FG feeling back and who knows: a session or two online in FG between the gaming nights, now that SW is available.

Vince and I talked about this today. For anyone who has purchased the ruleset Vince will be running short adventures on a limited basis for anyone that wants to play. We have to come up with an adventure or two (other than the enclosed one) so that should give people a week or two to make their purchase and get familiar with the product.

Hey! Maybe we can finally get in a game together. :)

Well - as Kevin has said - I've been elected to run a number of "test run" scenarios for those who purchase the ruleset. He's even been gracious enough to let me have a couple of weeks to settle into my new country ;)

All times will be Euro friendly...As I'm in the process of relocating to Korsør in Denmark :) So maybe Ilwan I can hook up with you one day!

Anyhow - back to packing...my flight leaves tmrw :D

Well, if you need another player feel free to let me know.

I recently finished a Necessary Evil campaign which was my first introduction into the Savage Worlds. While this isn't my "type" of campaign, I love the pure simplicity of the rules and the sillyness of the comic world.

Heck, any game that allows me to make "Doomsday Barbie" can't be all that bad. Where else can you find a 4 foot barbie doll that can grow 8ft and duel wields a chainsaw and has a Grogg (sp?) puppy as a pet.

Is there a Deadlands: Reloaded version in the works?

OK started to convert a pdf adventure and noticed a few minor bugs:

1. The text on items overflows the right hand side of the frame.

2. Not sure if it's meant to happen or not, but... when you create a new personality you initially get a green sheet with a "wild" in the top lefthand corner, if you then click the joker to the right of "Name" you get another sheet opening up, this time yellow(ish). However, the green sheet (wildcard) has all the text boxes, while the yellow sheet (extras) is missing most of the text boxes.
Edit: not missing the text boxes, just no borders to them!

3. Twice now I've gone to re-edit the text in a wildcard sheet description and FG has crashed. Only happens if I put the curser at the start of the text and press enter (to shift the text down to insert a new line). Maybe an FG bug? *shrugs*

Keep up the good work!! ;) :D

A couple more:

1. On the NPC sheet, it would appear Charisma doesn't have a place with the other derived stats.

2. Can't seem to enter text in the Edges and Hinderances boxes on the Charcter Sheet.

(hopefully these comments aren't seen as being too criticising, just pointing out possible oversights!! ;) :D )

I'm currently learning the Savage Worlds ruleset and converting Noble Deceit (a 3 part adventure) into FG. Anyone interested in playing let me know. Its for 4 to 6 players, and I should be ready next week (cut me some slack for a new (to me) rules system :) ). To be played 2100 onwards UK time (currently GMT +1).

Not sure, as my experience is pretty limited with SW, but I am sure that you do not need the derived stat for charisma with the ally sheet. This is because Charisma is used by the GM to determine how the NPCs/monsters will react to your character. (See pg 10 in the SW handbook)

2. Can't seem to enter text in the Edges and Hinderances boxes on the Charcter Sheet.

You need to right click in that area, and use the token to "add an Item". Then you will be able to type in what you need. This cleans up some of the XML code that is generated for your character.

We thank you for the comments. Anything to make an awesome product even better!

Hope that helps.

This is a bug in FG itself. For some reason, the program sometimes likes to place the text you type in before the <p></p> tag. (Inside the db.xml code...) I believe they have fixed this in the next version.

I cannot remember how to get around this? Anyone?

This is an FG bug as I remember. I don't really remember the specific work around someone posted but the problem is immediately hitting CR. Try putting a space in before hitting enter.

Deadlands is defintely on the radar, but when is up to Shane. Our next SW conversion is likely to be Rippers. Once we know for sure I'll be happy to post the info here. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, so far tinkerin' with the SW ruleset hasn't been too difficult, just time consumin'. But I sure would love to see some of the more grim whistles and ells... although the "Forest" lighting does simulate ghost rock rather well...

Thanks for the work and the time,

I too have limited experience with SW (thanks to Digital Adventures for bringing it to my attention!! :)). I only mentioned it as on the main character sheet Charisma is with the other derived stats and when reading extra/npc descriptions in the pdfs, it's also together with the others.

That's is exactly what Simon from PEG said! Glad to know the SW community all thinks alike. :)
