I haven't frequented this part of the forum for a while, so I apologise if this has been discussed somewhere else.

I am writing as I wait for FG(U) to update all those files I will never use and am wondering if there is a plan to allow users to control what gets updated in the update process. A dialog box with a list of available updates and check boxes to allow a user to say, yes, I want all of that game system files but don't want the others. That sort of thing.

Each time I update to get D&D stuff, I wait for all the other stuff that I don't want. Others will not want the D&D stuff. It's not a big deal when considering the state of the world these days but it is something I think is worth thinking about.

Yes it has been discussed before. No, it is unlikely that there will ever be user control over what does and does not get updated.

FGU is the exception that so much content is regularly being updated. Once 'stable' most content is rarely ever updated. Yes it is checked everytime, but only updated when the content changes.

I made a suggestion which I'd like to be considered that there should at least be a separation between the "update system files" and "download newly purchased content from the store" functionality of the updater.

Especially with FGU in Beta, I'd like to be able to buy stuff without having to update the system as well.
