So I don't know what was going on, but when we were using the map yesterday and we would move the icons, it would instead move a green square. Once positioned, we discovered we could get the original picture to reposition where it was supposed to be by moving the green square one more time. It was very strange though. Any idea how to prevent that from happening again?

FGC or FGU?
Ruleset? Extensions?
Players? All Players? GM?

By chance did anyone grab a screen shot?

FGC, 5th edition D&D, all the standard extensions available plus there is this scripting this guy on DM Guild does to script things like class and race abilities that are, unfortnately not standard automation.

And no, no screen shots. Didn't think of it.

One or more of your extensions is most likely (99%) the culprit. Many extensions do not work well together, because they are written by different developers who are modifying the same code objects.

If you see this again, turn off your extension one by one until the problem goes away. You can then turn them on one by one until you identify the extension or combination of extensions that are causing problems.

Another possibility is that the grid on the map was less than 10x10?

Also what do you mean by 'all standard extensions'? There are no 'standard' extensions. All extensions are optional. If you are loading in all of the extensions listed for 5e then you have added in many many decals and several themes. You only need one theme and keep the decals down to one or two.
