I total LOVE this theme!!!!!
it looks so nice and the dark is MUCH easier on the eyes than default.
I did find one MINOR problem in my game last night.
SPELL TOKENS don't aren't showing on the character sheet.
Running FGU and a dozen other extensions

Hey Zionmatrix,
thanks for the love :).

Coukd you tell me which spelltoken extension you use?
My theme doesn't change any coding, so my guess is, that the spell tokens you're missing are simply dark on dark, but were intended for a bright background.

If this is not the case, and they vanish altogether, please check if the behavior is still present without my theme.

Cheers

it is B9's- Spell Tokens, from the forge. the main thing is there is no token on the character sheet/action tab/spells.
yes it is there without your theme.

Looks like it's my bad, the spell token ext, must of updated. I lost about half the tokens I had setup. then I forgot you had to "Reparse" the spell to get the token back.
Sorry to bug you, but again I Love the theme.
A couple of ideas, that I run with this theme, Large sidebar buttons, and change the dice total color in the chat to help it stand out. these are both other ext I have to load.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was wondering what could've posaibly caused this :).
In regard to your suggestions:

1. Large sidebar buttons
This is defined deep within each ruleset as far as I remember. Changing this is beyond me and also, in my use case, undesired. I was happy, when the sidebar finally got smaller.
2. This ia doable. In fact earlier versions used bright red for dice rolls. I will see if I can change it back or alter it again. Thanks for pointing that out.

Cheers
SirMotte

Ps @ everyone:

I'm knees deep in work again and can't react to the current changes within the UI. In case something breaks, please report your findings here, so I can create a to do list for later.

Is it possible that this extension could work with Celestian's new font extension? I love these theme and I know fonts can be a pain, but the only thing I am really looking for is a font size increase for it. It doesn't have to be a huge increase.

My understanding is that there is a font built in that overrides other fonts so not sure how viable that is.

Hey there, sorry for the late reply.

I haven't taken a look at his extension yet, but as I interpret his notes, it seems, that he only defines font sizes, not the type, so in theory this should work as soon as his extension overrides mine.
You can do this yourself by renaming his extension to "extensionname.zip" instead of "extensionname.ext" and then open up the extension.xml and change the loadorder entry to 1501 or higher. Then simply remove the zip ending and add .ext again. Alternatively, use filemanagers like total commander or directory opus, that are able to open up packaged files on the fly.

Keep in mind, that this will most likely give you a lot of odd results and clipped texts.

Also:

I received another generous donation today.
N.G, I will add your name to the hall of fame in post #3, anonymous for now. If you wish to be added by name/nickname, please send me a pm. Thanks you so much, this means a lot to me!

The nameless soul led on in silence. A ghoustly figure floating just a few feet in front of me, ragged clothes billowing in an otherworldy breeze.
The translucent body shimmered in a faint silverish, blue light. I followed it into a room, that looked to have been a study at some point in the distant past.
Crumbling parchment and dried out inkpots, old maps of long lost kingdoms and tomes of forgotten wisdom lay about in a somewhat orderly fashion.
"Remarkable!", I thought, as I let my eyes examine the treasures before me. The ghostly figure stopped and turned to me, his fair face seemed to kindly smile as he noticed the exitement in my eyes.
His hands began to gesture around the room, pointed at some of his belongings, and then at me. He smiled again.
I understood, nodded, bowed deeply and then returned his smile. Certainly not as fair as his, but in kind.

Thank you N.G for donating!

I'm assuming you've never used this theme or looked at your console log before. This extension supports numerous other extensions. For any one of which you don't use - that he supports - you'll get a warning about not being able to merge those changes into files you don't have. Mentioned previously in this thread for sure.

Embarrassing. Thank you.

I did stop for half a second and think to myself..."Why am I getting the error for that one? I don't have it, at all." I used to use that ext and figured it was some sort of leftover remnants that the theme was picking up on.

Grave news my friends. Unfortuntately, no matter how I hard I try, I can't find the time to work on the theme anymore (or any hobby that is *sigh*). Ever since I changed careers I pretty much have zero free time with few exceptions.
Therefore developement is now officially on hold until further notice.

I'm very sorry to disappoint you guys and gals, I promised so much. Fret not though, I absolutely WILL BE BACK *insert terminator here*. I won't abandon this fun and educating project and this awesome community. Things will hopefully get better this year.
Until then, please still report issues and errors and give me suggestions, I read them all and will act on them at some point for sure.

Which makes me humbled and proud! Thanks for the praise, I fully understand where you come from. I started work on the theme for the same reason. I like the functionality of FGU a lot, but dislike UI and UX. Therefore I tried to at least adjust some aspects of it to my liking.

Dissapoint?? Delivered little??

Sir, you made a theme that me and my groups prefer way more than commercially released ones. I had players comment that they didn't know "FG could look that cool". And, of course, it is my theme of choice when DMing with the DnD5e Ruleset. It looks quite elegant and is very "easy on the eyes" when reading modules/notes.

You already did something really cool, and you should feel proud. Take care and hope to see you around here in the future :)

This is by the most used theme outside of standard ones that come with FGU and that is likely only because they don't know about this one yet.

Everyone loves this thing, great work SirMotte.

Not entirely sure, but I think a recent FG update introduced a bug into the theme. My players can no longer mark spells as prepared on their character sheets. The little circle to mark them does not appear on the sheet anymore. I loaded a fresh campaign with just the theme and I have the same issue. Everything just defaults to being prepared on combat and standard mode.52719

I don't think it's an issue with the theme. I use a lot of extensions (including the Sir Motte's theme) and I don't have the issue that you have.

Just to be sure, I logged out, ran an update and everything is still working perfectly for me right now.

That appears as if the Spells group on that character is not set up as being for a prepared caster. Putting a 1 in the Prepared box on the group window ought to address it.

I've never had to do that before, but that fixed it. Strange that it wouldn't just be the default on a wizard(at least strange to me), but that's got nothing to do with the theme I spose.

Hey there friend. You're doing nothing wrong. The current sidebar was introduced after I went on hiatus. I have been inactive for about a year now and therefore no update to address these new graphics was published.

If everything goes well, I hope I will find the time to work on the theme again within the coming months.

Hi @SirMotte
outstanding theme!!! By the way I use GMW Campaign Toolkit (very useful) for making custom ext for background and normally I left a "main" theme (like default or brown or another) and load the ext with only 1920x1080 background image but when I choose your theme (as main theme) the background image does not appear.
I think there is an overrade or similar thing.. so can you help me or suggest me how can I solve.. :-)

But you think to work also to the buttons right siderbar?!?!

I am very happy you are come back here!!!
Have a great day and thank you again for you beautiful theme!!!

Thanks for the love :* . Your extension probably needs a higher load-order than my theme. The themes is set to 1500 (due to other extensions being nearly as high).

The sidebar buttons are currently in the works as well. I plan to color-code them , but I'm unsure if this will be a little too distracting, We'll see.
Expect an update during this weekend.

If you can't wait, grab the DEV Version From Github, most sidebar elements are already with new icons: LINK (https://github.com/SirMotte/FGU-Theme-Hearth/blob/Hearth-Edition-Main/Theme_SirMotte_Hearth.ext)

Update to Version 2.9.3 - Sneaking Giraffe

Anouncement:

Sidebar Changes, Theme adjustments and Extension Updates. Choo choo!

Enjoy!
Sir Motte

Changelog - Theme Elements:

Changed sidebar button size to show 1px of the background and muted border color a little, as it's not necessary to have them this bright in this area.
Minor "Roll initiative all" button adjustment in the CT menu.
Changed Dual Wield Icon Color in Actions Tab from Orange to Red, as Orange is supposed to be the "UI element active" color.
Changed "on hover" button state for eg. help or close window to yellow, instead of orange, as orange is supposed to be the "UI element active" color.
Changed "on press" button sown state for eg. close window to a bright red, instead of dark red, so when pressed they don't appear to vanish.
Fixed color inconsistencies for bright red ui elements.
Fixed record sheet graphic, that was off 1px, causing cutoff frames in eg. items, encounters and other ui elements.
Fixed new Radial Menu colors from last update - forgot to include the altered pngs.
Changed die calculated result color to saturated yellow, to better "pop" at a glance.
First batch of sidebar icons.
Changed Module loaded/unloaded icon size
Changed settings menu link icon to be a hybrid of link and setting.

Changelog - Theme Elements - Extension Icons:

Explanation: Depending on the number of extensions you use, things get pretty wild in the Chat on launch. I try to remedy this a little by adjusting extension icons to use the same width, height and frame. This calms down the chaos and gives me the opportunity to better embed other authors extension icons, without changing them altogether. Purely Cosmetic Madness.

A whole lot...and more to come - when possible...why do I do this to me?!

Supported Extension changes:

Fixed some missing Button Colors for Requested Rolls by McCartysr (Thanks to McCartysr and special thanks to Saagael)
Changed Chest Icon from Map Parcel by Silent Ruin.
Changed all custom frames of extensions to use the new frame outline color.
Updated Legendary Assistant by Stv to work with the recent sidebar changes.

This calms the chaos and gives me the opportunity to better embed other authors extension icons, without changing them altogether. Purely Cosmetic Madness.

CSV Table Importer by Mattekure

Supported Extension changes:

Updated support for Player Agency by Damned
Kingdom & Warfare Battle tracker support brought to you by MeAndUnique.
Changed Legendary Assistant's (by Stv) CT outline to be solid instead of dashes.
Arcane Ward by Ryan Hagelstrom - Ryan was so kind to add an extra icon defintions to his extension. Now I can appease my obsessive-compulsive-disorder to not have truncated icons anywhere. Now, when casting using his extension the chat still looks fine. NICE!
Exchanged most MeAndUnique Extension Announcement Icons with "High Res" versions. Results in minor quality improvement within FGU, that you wouldn't notice, ever ( ̄へ ̄).
Combat Highlighter by Daddy Ogreman - reduced outline from 2px to 1px and added "high res" announcement icon.

With the theme newly loaded, the Menu in the Combat Tracker is not clickable. I have made sure all other extensions are disabled and am used a brand new Campaign for testing. I even went so far as to delete the two related files (the one in the Vault and the one in the extensions folder) and re-downloading them using Check for Updates.

Hopefully this can get fixed before Friday or I will have to go back to the default theme and I am not looking forward to that.

Weirdly enough I just experienced the same behavior with a new pf2 campaign. We did some script based changes to the menu button to be able to show more custom buttons and sub menus entries. This might be related to those changes.

It would be odd, if something like this wasn't noticed until now, so maybe some update is messing with us.

It works without the theme loaded and I am using the PF2 ruleset.

Everything was fine two weeks ago this Friday when my group played last time. I noticed it this week while I was doing prep for this Friday.

Our most beloved egghead MeAndUnique found the problem.

"The problem is that the extension file gets loaded for all rulesets, and has a bit in there to update the position of the Battle Tracker button for the Kingdoms and Warfare extension. That button in 5e lives where the menu button does in pf2e; so the theme is placing an invisible functionless button over top the menu button."

Fix is underway!

Hey Pal, unfortunately this is currently not possible within FGU. You could of course use the "/scaleui x" command. Alternatively try the attached extension whit @WhiteTiki 's font settings. Please be aware, that this extension prevents future changes I make to font colors and sizes to show up, as it overwrites my theme.
To use it, place the extension in your extensions folder and activate it before loading your campaign.

I hate to even ask since this theme is so awesome and you've put so much into it...but...is there a way to make the d8 and d10 shaped like the core rules? They look too much like the d20 and it confuses the players. I tried to edit the core dice graphics to make them look like yours, but man, I suck at it. :)

Awesome job again!

Update to Beta 2.9.8 - Baldur's Cat Flap

Announcement:

This weeks update is now live on the Forge and GitHub.

It focuses on bringing in basic support for Dungeons & Dragons Classic /ADnD /2E ! I can tell how much the 2E community cherishes this ruleset, as never before I've had so many help offerings and issue reports than with this ruleset. A whopping 23 different players reported to me within a week! Fantastic!

I hope you're now able to fully enjoy Hearth Theme in 2E! Very few buttons are missing and the CT has some issues I need to work on next week. Other than that things work fine.
As always special thanks to MeAndUnique and Saagael, all the wonderful folks at the Unofficial Developers Guild, as well as Derek From Fantasy Grounds (and Smiteworks in general).

Enjoy!
Sir Motte

Added Ruleset support:

Basic DnD Classic/ DnD 2E /ADnD support!
- Celestian did outstanding work with this ruleset! I'm amazed how many features are present by default, that would otherwise require extensions.
Same goes for the amount of custom graphics, well done.

Altered Theme Elements:

Fixed temporary HP Color (again).
Changed GM Roll hidden Roll icon.
Fixed 1px misaligned Chatbox frame.
Second pass on Chat Icons like attack, critical hit and the like. Some feel a little clunky, I will probably change them up again.
Exchanged Import/Export button to make more sense - Import = Arrow Down / Export = Arrow Up.
Changed Portrait Frame. While I like the original, it felt a little bit off style wise.
Changed Reference Manual Chapter Font Color from Orange to Yellow.
If you read this changelog, you can request your very own GM icon extension, contact me.
Changed Chat "Stop" indicator from "halt" hand to exclamation mark, to be more universal.
Changed Radial Menu Initiative icon to use a Bold Exclamation mark instead of the regular one.
Increased Border size of custom roll window buttons to 2px, in order to not produce weird aliasing effects.
Changed Character Sheet Tab Font from Regular to Bold (Black).
Changed Chat Speech bubbles to use a much darker value, for better readability.

Added Extension Support:

Added Icon support for "Carrier" by Silent Ruin - Thanks for providing everything necessary SR :).

Supported Extension changes:

Changed Moon Tracker (by DMFirmy and bmos) Icon button down state to be in line with the rest of the theme.
Changed Arcane Ward (Ryan Hagelstrom) Announcement Icon to use a dark backdrop.
Adjusted Friend Zone (MeAndUnique) Tab Font to match new black font type.

Hall of Fame Newcomer

The creature stared at me while sitting on top of its treasure. Its enormous front teeth glistened wet in the dim light, as did its brown fur. It smirked, the smirk became a smile and suddenly it snipped an object at me from below its feet. My instincts made me flinch, but my arm reached for the object anyway and snatched it out of the air. A beautiful gold coin from a distant country lay in my hand. Intricate and ornate details framed a fair face with long hair and a hat of an unknown fashion. The smile resembled the one shown by the creature. As I looked up again, the creature still sat there, still watching me, still smiling. I bowed. I would do my best to please it again. Thanks to Felix Achberger for donating!

Edit: Sneaked in a Hotfix for Silent Ruins Carrier Extension, had some xml entries set up incorrectly.

Update to Beta 2.9.9 - Slothful Squire

Announcement:

This weeks update is now live on the Forge and GitHub.

This update focuses on streamlining the chat window to make comprehending it at a glance easier (hopefully).
Feedback on what you think of the chat colors and font choices is highly appreciated.

This was supposed to be the last update before 3.0 ships and was supposed to clean up all the small fry bugs, hickups and issues that remained.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to change some stuff in the image control panel so a version 2.9.10 and so on might be necessary after all.

But good progress was made and I feel mostly fine to get work started on other color schemes.

Special thanks to MeAndUnique and Saagael, as well as all the wonderful folks at the Unofficial Developers Guild.

Enjoy!
Sir Motte

Changelog Theme Elements:

Chat color and font rework - I hope this helps with clarity and thus usability, feedback appreciated!
Adjusted some frames/buttons/icons to use 1px rounded edges as all other do as well.
Changed Chat_Wait Icon (the one that appears when someone is typing) to be yellow and not look like a thought bubble.
Changed button_speak (the one used when you want to talk with the identity of a creature / character) to yellow and not look like a thought bubble.
Adjusted all Radial Menu Icons to use Roboto Black instead of regular, where present.
Changed acicon border (shield symbol behind the AC value) to match other frames and to no clash with proficiency star. (mostly 5E relevant)
Fixed Misaligned Character Sheet Tabs in 5E and made them protrude a little more, they are all over the place in any other ruleset however.
Added Colored line to Melee, Ranged, Thrown, Off Hand, Primary Hand and two handed icon in the Character Sheet's actions tab. Helps with "at a glance" comprehension.
Altered "Off Hand" Character Sheet Icon to have the same line weight as the "Primary Hand" and "Two Handed" Icons.
Changed Empty Portrait Frame to better convey interaction possibility.
If you read the changelog and want your very own DM Icon Extension, contact me.
Changed Field Focus color to be more prominent.
Remade Dice Color Picker pngs.
Minor Changes to Chat Icons
Horizontally Flipped Vehicle Sidebar Icon (little horsy is now riding out).
Added new Import Text Button in NPC Window
Made Link Icon 2px smaller for better row clarity.
Made cogwheel icon 2px smaller to better fit their frames / background frames.
Made Label Frames on Charsheet to not have a gap in between.
Remade field_rollable and field_rollable_transparent icon (small dice icon shown next to eg. abilities). I always found the d20 in super miniature quite unclear.
Added button background for table columns insert/delete and slightly changed their appearance.
Added Character Wizard Add item/add Spell button.
Added new Clipboard Radial Menu entries - Menu,Copy, Cut, Paste
Changed Radial Menu Link Break Icon to be less picturesque.
Added new Magic Wand Radial Menu Icon
Changed magnifying glass to the cogwheel icon. My Players and I all agreed, that the magnifying glass is not very intuitive, therefore I exchanged it.

This update includes another pass at the chat and fixes some inconsistencies here and there.

As always special thanks to MeAndUnique and Zarestia, as well as all the wonderful folks at the Unofficial Developers Guild.

Enjoy!

Changelog Theme Elements:

Increase contrast for all beige UI elements slighty (#EBBDBA -> #FFF0CA). This makes them pop a little more, especially on the brighter brown header backgrounds.
Changed chat colors agaaaaain ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
Removed duplicate sheetlabelinline font definition (Thanks to Zarestia for spotting this.)
Changed radial magic wand icon to better convey its cleanup function of statblocks for import.
Added new <icon name="num1" file="graphics/radial/icon_dice_1.png" /> that is used in the reworked formation tab.
Removed Metallic Effect from chat icons but for the DM. I found it too distracting during actual play.
Added missing Condition Icons. - WIP
If you read this changelog, you can request your very own GM Icon, contact me.
Made gear Icon on Charsheet 2px smaller to better fit its background
Changed sidebar Partysheet icon to be in line with other icons
Adjusted hit and critical hit chat icons to be more distinct.
Made chat hidden GM roll icon red to be in line with the rest of the theme.
Made select chat fonts bold for better readaility.
Changed chatcolors again for msgfont. The pale green was a complimentary color, but ultimately a cold one and thus unfit for the warm colors everywhere else.
Fixed referencepage graphic - had the original still in the background, leading to smudgy edges.
Remade sidebar Character Selection and Party sheet icon to be in line with the look and feel of other icons.
Filled out sidebar image icon mountain and sun to be in line with other icons.
Adjusted Chat portrait size to be slightly smaller, to be in line with other icons.
Slightly adjusted empty portrait symbol
Fixed Character Sheet empty Token icon to not be tiny.

Update to Beta 2.9.11 - Penpot and Lunacy

Announcement:
This weeks update is now live on the Forge and GitHub.

It entails small modifications to very frequently used buttons, to make them stand out more and be in line with other buttons as well.
Please tell me what you think of it.

Other than those there are no major changes or additions, as I had little time to work on it.
The next update will be a little bigger and hopefully address some lingering issues with the 4E and DnD Classic Rulesets.

Enjoy!

Changelog Theme Elements:

Replaced the hidden roll GM icon with text to be better to understand.
Changed systemfont from font style black to bold again, to be better readable.
Re-added proper button down state for cogwheel that replaced the magnifying glass. (Thanks to MrDDT for bringing that up).
Re-made several flat icons to be clearly interactable.
Enlarged the eye open closed icon to better fit their new frame in the CT.

A closed eye is pretty universal in fantasy grounds for visible stuff. Can't that just be used for hidden rolls? the text box is pretty jarring.

Also, I'm not sure if it is your theme but Asset folder icons seem to be missing for me. I've done *zero* testing LOL.

Ok, to avoid that how about an opened eye with a circle+slash covering it to keep the visible theme.

Or a red lock like assets in a module, those can't be opened.

Or a picture of the dice tower since those are hidden. That's more cryptic though

I like all these.

I've heard a lot of people saying the red icon with the black eye lashes were hard to understand what it was meaning or what it even was, most people thought it was a red coin to be honest when I asked DMs for my west marches group.

I think all these ideas are good too. I think it is for sure much easier to understand, however, I do agree with you ghen, that it also breaks out of the concept of removing the look of the theme as a whole.

Update to Beta 2.9.12 - Dancing Homunculus + Hotfix

Announcement:

Thanks for all the feedback, highly appreciated. Please bring anything that bugs you, or that confuses DMs and Players alike to my attention, no matter how unimportant it may seem!

Tiny fix for a few UI issues. It doesn't really warrant a version change, but for the sake of consistency, it is now 2.9.12.
No news on the 4E support front.

I'm hard at work creating a "Penpot (https://penpot.app/)" Design File that will make it fairly easy to create your own Editions of Hearth Theme, and enable me to easily create the old editions again and some more.
Hidden from the spotlight, functionality created by the one and only MeAndUnique streamlines the process with super smart scripts to ease the workload a lot. Stay tuned.

Changelog Theme Elements:

Fixed Tokenbag asset icon not showing correctly
Exchanged all closed eye symbols with the same icon as the opened eye, only color indicates the state now. Reinstated eye symbol in the chat instead of the "hidden roll" text to be less obtrusive and in line with everything else.
I'm still unsure about how to approach this in another way, since the menu item is not a button. Adding a square or circle around the eye symbol like I do for most klick-able ui elements isn't possible, because of the way it is implemented into the ui. If I did this, it wouldn't be discernible at all.
Removed Window Headers.

This is a rather radical change in comparison to the recent changes, so tell me what you think. In my opinion it removes clutter and helps the eyes to focus on relevant elements.

The theme is no longer strictly 5e, unfortunately I can't change the Thread title anymore. (Edit: Derek from FG did me the favor of altering the thread title to no longer include 5e, thanks Derek!)

I don't own the Mutant Crawl Ruleset, therefore it's impossible for me to troubleshoot the issue. I'm very sorry. I'll try to get in touch with the ruleset developers.

This is very weird, I did not touch fonts at all. Would be really bad if this fails, it was a pain to manipulate them to show up. I'll check this asap and report back. Thanks for the heads-up.

Edit:
I can't reproduce the issue on my end. Can you rule out that any extension is interfering with my theme?

I've gone and disabled all my extensions one-by-one in an effort to identify the culprit but in the end I've ruled out any extensions here. The issues persisted even after the Theme was the only remaining active extension.

Are you on Discord for faster trouble shooting? If so, PM me Sir Motte#1305.

Edit: It seems like something borked the Forge Upload or the download corrupted the extension at some point. Whatever happened, I re-uploaded the forge file, this should fix any font issue that might have arisen from this.

Thanks for reporting, will be fixed with the next update at the end of the week :). (Or grab the dev build )

Regarding the Font issue that was discussed before, it turned out, that the culprit was the Chat Aesthetics Configurator (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/523/view). An update to the extensionis in the works by Ryan Haegelstrom, who took over maintenance after Drowbes departure. For anyone experiencing the issue in their Pathfinder Campaing (Action Icons not rendering properly), I advise so not use the Configurator or my theme for the time being.

The error that happens with the the Mutant Crawl Ruleset has been found as well and I'm trying to fix it. (Will probably have to rely on the folks at the unofficial developers guild again ;) )

That's expected and normal because the theme overrides objects of other extensions and FGU logs a warning if said objects of other extensions can't be found.

@SirMotte, I started using your theme and really like it. However, I get errors every time I open a NPC sheet, they aren't critical errors. I can safely ignore them but it is a nuisance. I'm using the DCC RPG ruleset which I know isn't supported by your theme but I'm hoping you could easily add support for it and MCC RPG. The error I get is: "window: Control (npc_importantdeath_label) anchoring to an undefined control (actext) in windowclass (npc_combat)".

npc_importantdeath_label is a Death Indicator 5E only extension which normally would probably just give a warning if not present when using his theme. Part of the reason extensions/modules are tied to only supported listed rulesets is because they are largely incompatible. Ruleset devs regularly don't follow the CORERPG consistent parts when they start making things their own way. Hence, things will never be compatible when something does this and why listed compatibilities are part of the extension/module game. As you state - he will have to change his code to support this ruleset. Just stating this so you know where this is coming from.

Turned out that the npc_combat windowclass doesn't have a "actext" control, thus the error. Should be fixed with the next update in a few minutes.

Update to Beta 2.9.15 - Polite Extremist + Hotfix

Announcement:

Sorry for the long wait @macDsinfo.
Mutant Crawl Classic and potentially Dungeon Crawl and other rulesets without an "actext" control in the" npc_combat" windowclass, should no longer throw an error.
Tell me if this fixes your issue!

Also, Evolivolution kindly provided basic support for the SFRPG ruleset. There still remain UI hickups and inconsistencies, but the theme is not completely unusable anymore with this ruleset.
I'm working on providing some more fixes in the future.

Added Ruleset Support:

SFRPG (Starfinder) - Basic Support - (brought to you by Evolivolution, thanks!)
Muntant Crawl Classic and Dungeon Crawl Classis should no longer throw an error when opening up an NPC sheet. (Thanks to Zarestia for providing the info on how to fix this)

Update to v2.9.16 - Generous Dragon

Announcement:

Happy New Year everyone! Minor Extension update, not sure if it warrants a version change tbh, but here ya go.
I removed the Beta Prefix, because honestly, we're long out of beta by now and the only reason that it was still used by me, were my plans to drop it with 3.0. As I again don't have much time on my hands to finish stuff for 3.0, most importantly the theming helper, I decided to remove it now.

Onward into a new year that hopefully is a little less maddening than the last few years proved to be.

Extension Changes:

Support Update for Requested Rolls by Mccartysr that adds a frame tint to the "Staged Rolls" functionality. Brought to you by the man himself.

Announcement:

Minor but impactful visual adjustments to window frames. I changed the border style, added headers back in and introduced a new, de-saturated red color tone that is easy on the eyes and doesn't pop out like previous iterations of frame headers did.
I felt like windows were too floaty and needed more of a visual anchor. Please let me know what you think of the change.

Hello. I was looking at this theme and I noticed some of the fonts are very dark and some are not readable (calendar and clock adjuster output). I use the Colorful language ext so maybe that is the issue. Is there a way to change the font color? It maybe this is the way it should look? Finally, I see some of the icons on the right (shops and B9) look different but I assume that is depended on the author creating an icon for the theme.

I am using a lot of ext so maybe it is a conflict?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Below is a screen shot.

CAC and Fireside are overriding this theme for those fonts.
Fireside has the option to use lighter fonts, so you need to pick the light font theme in there.

Hi nephranka, thanks for giving my theme a go :).

Like MrDDT said, Chat Asethetics Configurator overwrites my Chat Font and Icon settings. It comes with a light font setting in the options menu, but still overwrites my carefully chosen font weight and colors.

I'm unfamiliar with fireside, but if it overwrites my theme (has a higher loadorder) there is nothing I can do. Make sure to follow the extensions instructions as it seems to be compatible if you do so and choose what you want and how you want it, eg. only overwrite my chat icons but keep my font settings.

The calendar should be fine, even with moon tracker active. I'll double check this this weekend.

Which Shop Extension are you using? I do support one made by Bayne and one made by mattekure.

Clock adjuster should be fine as well. I'll check if anything changed recently that may interfere.

As far as I remember, Bratch9 stuff should be covered. It seems like he uses a different logo definition for the encumbrance tweak module. I'll try to contact him regarding this.

Best would be, if you write down what extensions you're using so I have a better idea of what may be interfering or needs support by the theme.

I just grabbed this off the Forge today and I have to say this is a fabulous looking theme! Well done and thank you :)

I loaded this up in the FGU Cypher System ruleset (no extensions) and spotted a few things that could use some adjusting:

- Skill roll difficulty results in the chat window (a number that appears in a green circle) is very difficult to see. It's black text on a dark background and is very useful for the players, but very difficult to read at the moment.
- In the character sheet, the text for the Might, Speed, and Intellect pools is a darkish red against a dark background. A little difficult to read, but usable.
- There's a little "wing" on the ends of the character sheet tabs. Not sure if this was a style choice or if the Cypher Char Sheets are slightly different than the 5e and Pathfinder sheets. Very minor and doesn't really impact anything.

56024

It's pretty cool that this works so well even though Cypher wasn't on your list of rulesets. I hope this helps you. I look forward to using this theme!

Can you load different definitions of elements for different rulesets?
If you are able to make reference-h White/Yellow/Orange for XCore I think that is possibly the only change needed for Xcore compatibility.

Just add a second definition below the current one with the added tag ruleset="XCore" (or whatever that ruleset package is named, I'm not sure what the package name of XCORE is)

<font name="reference-h" ruleset="XCore" >
<fgffile name="graphics/fonts/bold-14.fgf" />
<ttf file="graphics/fonts/Roboto-Bold.ttf" name="Roboto Bold" size="24" />

The update that fixes the mentioned issues will be live in a few minutes. The only thing I can't fix right now is the misaligned charsheets tabs panel.

Update to v2.9.18 - Cyclops's Eyepatch

Announcement:

Added Cypher System support - Fixed some missing Font definitions and icons making this "Basic Support" ready.
Added XCore System support. Also more UI refinement that fix some long standing issues that bothered me as well as some code cleanup. Support for "Author" and Mad Nomads Downtime Extension will be added at a later point, I'm awaiting their response to be able to fix the UI issues mentioned in this thread.

Added Ruleset Support:

Cypher System - Basic
XCore - Basic

Theme Changes:
Decreased Window Header height so fonts look more centralized.
Removed Window Header from Chat as it doesn't need one in my opinion.
Removed additional lines from sidebar buttons. Got a little confusing with all the lines near each other.
Made AC Icons more prominent again.
Fixed "usepower" icon on actions tab.
Darkened sidebar
Reduced asset folder icon size
Added support for the new Token Height implementation.

Under the Hood:
Font definition clean-up.

I've been using this for a couple of days now (5E), and generally loving it. The fact that windows actually take up the amount of space that they do visually and I can click on what I intend to all the time is such an upgrade over the official D&D theme.

My only small complaints are:

1. Background faction colors on the combat tracker are pretty similar. If the green/yellow/red of friendly/neutral/enemy could be slightly more prominent (lighter shade/tone?) that would be awesome.

2. Similarly, the gray background for a selected layer when editing and image is barely darker than the background gray, making it difficult to see which layer is currently selected.

3. The font color in some places of editing an image is very difficult to see (light yellowish on white background):

-Blur percentage and all slider values in FX (e.g. Snow - Amount/Intensity/Speed/Size).
-Width/Height/Shadow/Fade in Paint
-Speed in Light Behavior
-Grid Type icon

I don't think this is something that can be done here, but is there a way to scale text only without scaling the whole UI? I've love for all text, or at least story entries to have slightly larger text without making the UI bigger (already at 135%).

[Displays: 2x Gigabyte 31.5" SS VA 3840 x 2160 4K (UHD) Display Curved Gaming Monitor.Viewing Angle 178°(H)/178°(V).
8-bit color / 93% DCI-P3 / 123% sRGB / VESA Display HDR 400]

Everything else is AMAZING as far as I can tell.

Thanks!

Hey there Matt, thanks for trying out my theme and the detailed report. Let's get into it:

1: A lighter shade would cause contrast values to not reach a ratio of 7:1 anymore. I'll look if I can tweak it a little but I don't think I will change it up a lot. I will test different border styles though.

2 + 3: This unfortunately is locked somewhere in the source code and not editable my be (at least last I checked and asked around). I'll see if I can change the background to a lighter hue for better contrast. The whole Image Window area is a mess, some parts are accessible, some are not and some I simply don't know where to look. But I'll probe again for input on the issue(s).

Fonts: Unfortunately the FGU UI is a rigid and static behemoth. Any more drastic changes to the font size will cause cut off text everywhere. I'll take a look if I can selectively change the Story Entry Font sizes, but chances are high that this isn't possible.

Thank you for your feedback, especially from someone with a curved screen as well (Oddysey G9 Neo 5120x1440 here). Are you using HDR all the time? This can drastically alter the contrast values which are very important with Hearth theme.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I do use HDR all the time... I just switched it off to test... There is a difference. Everything probably looks very, very slightly better without HDR, but not enough to warrant switching in and out of it.

Regarding #1 above. A more vibrant green/yellow/red border around each CT entry would be amazing to help differentiate them at a glance.

For #3 above... one more place where it's very light yellowish on white: Layer Names during editing.

For font sizes... I know there is "Large Fonts" extension by Celestian on the Forge (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/376/view). The increased size from this is just a little too much. It would be amazing to have a middle ground (haven't requested with them yet) or better yet a value that could be configured on the fly like /scaleui.

Again, thanks for everything. These are minor nitpicks.

Update to v2.9.20 - Reverse Oracle

Announcement:

This update brings in support for the new official Cyberpunk Red (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.php?id=IPFGCPRRTG) ruleset, courtesy of its developer the awesome seansps (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/crafter/305/view-profile).
Furthermore some extensions have received some love and a few buttons got a facelift. Special thanks to RocketVaultGames for his detailed bug reports! A few fixes in regard of Combat Timer by Zygmund Molotch and Moon Tracker remain in the pipeline and will roll out with the next update.

Added Ruleset Support

Cyberpunk Red - Basic

Added Extension Support

Capital Gains by MeAndUnique - New ?soon to be released? icons.
Added support for Bayne's Bag of Holding.

Theme Changes:

Fixed use power icon on Character sheet and made it more prominent and in line with the theme.
Adjusted Options Link Icon to be less ugly.
Adjusted Charsheet Tabs to also use the double outline. Proper rendering seems to fail at my resolution within FGU. Unsure if this is caused by FGU or during png compression. Investigating.
Adjusted Modcollector to also use double borders and removed the static "points" on it.

Extension Changes

Combat Highlighter by Daddy Ogreman, applied double outline to CT Frame.
Colored Moontracker Button with the more saturated yellow border to suggest a button more clearly.

Until then:

The first offering seemed to do little and as the Knight stepped back from the altar, his unease was showing clearly on his face.
"We can't fail!" he uttered as he nodded to the Ranger.
The young Elf carefully approached the basin and put forth his selection of goods. Ripples of golden light radiated across the fluids surface when the items sank down to its bottom.
"It is pleased!" he whispered, showing little emotion on his face, but his companions knew him well enough to decipher his stoic expression. Elation and a hint of relief.
"My turn!" grunted the short sorcerer. He had trouble to place his gifts, his height forced him to tiptoe around the altar and place them one by one at its large stone rim.
With a push by his cane he tipped them over. Splish, splash. The soft light became brighter and brighter with each item, until the Adventurers had to avert their eyes.

Pleasant heat tickled their skin and they dared to look up again. An orb of pure light had formed atop the altar, hovering just a few inches in the air.
"We made it!" gasped the Knight and stepped forward....

I am curious, does your Hearth Theme support the Pathfinder 2E action economy fonts? My group just moved to Pathfinder 2E from 1E and they threatened to mutiny if I changed the theme (LOL!), but the action economy fonts are missing. I've included a pic as an example.

Thanks in advance,

You should always turn all the extensions of and add them back in one at a time to find the culprit.

Best course of action would now be to report at his Themes thread, can't help you there. Might be a cleanup issue with FGU itself. What ruleset are you using and have you completely restarted the client (not only FGU)?

There is a slight bug when using the Hearth theme and the Swords & Wizardry ruleset. When browsing the module list to the Spells & Magic module, some of the navigation items are rendered in reverse case (see attached screenshot). For example, "sPELLS & mAGIC" and "fRONT cOVER". In the default theme and other themes the navigation items are rendered in all capital letters. Thanks for all the work you have put in to this!

I'm pretty sure that this is an underlying issue with the Ruleset or Ref-Manual itself. The only thing my theme does is use another Font, that's it. I'll try to investigate, but I myself couldn't think of anything my theme does that causes this.

Hello, and thank you so much for the theme that saves our eyes. I have a few questions (comments? complaints?) First while it's dark it's a bit... to dark at least in the starfinder settings. I totally bet this is my monitor settings, but sometimes the brown menu's with their brown boarders are hard to see the brown edges, of the brown other windows behind them. Then there's the x in some of the windows, with no background of it's own, blend into other windows.
With that complaint out of the way the reason i'm posting today is 2 fold
On the character sheet, (and party sheet) we have the Starship tab, all the other tabs have nice bright text, but these 2 are dark. I'm told they are images, I'd love to be able to assist with the code to change it, but I wouldn't know where to look. (like what .png should be found / updated to bright colors) if I could help out with that, I could also brighten the ones in the inventory tab.

Thanks for the praise and critique, so let's see:

Darkness and Contrast:

The theme was developed at 120 cd/m² brightness on an professionally calibrated wacom cintiq 27qhd. Keep in mind that a lot of monitors have very weird factory settings, so I'd suggest to either use tools like Spyder Elite (can be rented), X-Rite hardware like the ColorMunki or the "i" calibration hardware suite. This might be somewhat overkill (still highly recommended) so there are easier methods out there to do the process manually (eyeballing, but better than nothing).
I will try to provide a link to some good ones soon, you might want to google a little in the meantime.

The frame borders have seen around 3 iterations by now and I'm pretty happy in general with their appearance, I will however, take your feedback and test some more iterations with even brighter dual frames than they're already using.

Misaligned elements:

This is something I can't easily fix, as I only change the provided graphics with some minor tweaks here and there, but I steer clear of anything in regard of messing with frame values. Sorry, I'm unable to fix this (some of the issues are present in the official themes as well mind you :D ).

Icons:

I assume you're running Starfinder, which has only very basic support by me. I had planned to conquer the missing icons and graphics at some point, but l a healthy work/life balance is unobtainable to me for quite some time now (I'm extremely overworked lol ). Maybe ask around in the forums or discord, if someone is willing to provide further support. I can gladly make my design files available, as I don't see providing the graphics myself in the foreseeable future.

He lives! So, beware of the new Theme changed test (not sure it will effect you or not). Also, let me know if you plan or even can resolve the map UI anomolies where color differences make highlighted layers unseeable.

I really like the theme but some of it is showing up as black on dark grey for me, particularly the tabs in the combat tracker and the speed ranks used by AD&D's combat and tactics mod. Also target symbols seem unreadable in the combat tracker UI for me. Is there anything I can do for this? https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/959482389476810772/1138716207894241332/image.png

two things to try.

delete corerpg.pak and 2e.pak (can also delete the extensions in the vault) and rerun the updater

disable the other extensions and add them back in one by one

The only extension activated is this theme and I'm still getting labels dark.

Huh, I've never seen horizontal tabs before. I cracked open the code for 2e and Hearth theme and I think I see the issue. The buttongroup_tabs.lua script that drives how the tabs function has hard-coded colors in there for when a tab is active or not. That is most likely overriding the theme's color assignment. I can try to find some time tomorrow or friday to patch it.

Like Saagael said, this is probably not fixable, at least by me (I suck at coding). Maybe he will be able to find a solution.

Thanks for the praise, the theme has been a labor of love for a long time. Unfortunately I lack fee-time right now to look into quite a long list of requests and issue that have come up recently.

I've taken some time to try and solve this but unfortunately the only way I can see to fix this is to completely override how the horizontal tabs work, which I do not feel comfortable doing as it would harm cross-version compatibility. If Smiteworks could update the way horizontal tabs work such that the colors are configurable, I would happily add support for them. I suspect they will do this sooner or later, as horizontal tab colors are currently un-theme-able as they are, and there has been a big push to update controls for better theming.

Thank you very much. I'm kinda shooting for a more modern look.
Later down the line I may introduce a version that is a little bite more dynamic, talking simple color gradients and the like. No promises though :).

With today's FG update and the code changes for themes, I only have a couple things to report, but they are minor and won't cause me to have to use a different theme next session! LOL In any case, here's what I've found

1. Dice tower now looks super funky:
58666

2. Story Entry and Note Header text color:
58667

3. NPC and Vehicle name text (black on brown):
58668

4. This may be something from another extension, but there is a button to "Send to Chat" that is extremely hard to see:
58669
(I can figure out which extension if you need me to)

I haven't gone through the console logs yet, but wanted to report the main issues I saw -- I think with as many extensions as I use as a DM, this theme isn't not THAT broken with the new changes SW have done. If I find anything else, I will let you know.

I've got a 'good enough' fix for #2 and #3 where I set the font to that light color used everywhere (#FFF0CA).

It requires adding these lines to the extension's graphics\graphics_fonts.xml file:

<font name="npcsheet_header">
<ttf file="graphics/fonts/Noto_Sans/NotoSans-Bold.ttf" name="Noto Sans Bold" size="16" />
<color value="#FFF0CA" />
</font>
<font name="storybox_header">
<ttf file="graphics/fonts/Noto_Sans/NotoSans-Bold.ttf" name="Noto Sans Bold" size="24" />
<color value="#FFF0CA" />
</font>

I'll open a pull request on the repo later today... gotta run for now.

I just added the dice tower fix to that pull request. It was just some changes to the icon names for the three dice tower pngs. Here's a screenshot of the change. I also realized there is a dev branch that has those .21 changes that are already published to the Forge. Once those are committed, I can put these fixes on top of those. In the meantime, you can just use the folder directly from the .22 branch on GitHub.

Update to v2.9.21 - Knightowl

Announcement:

Thanks to the amazing JustinFreitas some fixes are provided for the recent changes Smite Works did to how Themese are set-up. Make sure to shower him with praise!

My current work schedule doesn't allow me to allocate time to anything else and during the few hours of free time I'm too exhausted to actually work on the theme right now, please bear with me.
The Update is now live on the forge, in case you have used the Version posted my JustinFreitas in this thread, you don't need to delete it, it will get overwritten if you update though the forge.

Cheers Sir Motte

If your Theme's Version number goes down from 2.9.22 to 2.9.21, this is intended, as I don't jump numbers for the main branch releases (in case you used Justins Version)

Added Ruleset Support

Old School Essentials (brought to you by Justin Freitas)

Theme Changes:

Fixed new Graphics and broken stuff introdued with the recent Smiteworks Updates. (brought to you by Justin Freitas)
Maybe some minor adjustments that I have forgotten about by now.
File size was optimized, will need to take a closer look if the gain is worth it.

I don't think my changes made it into the newly published .21 version on the Forge. I'm seeing the CoreRPG dice tower and the Note/Story headers are incorrect. I'll keep using my .22 for now. Lemme know if you need any help with the merge or packaging. Thanks!

Edit: I see my changes in the dev branch... but the file sent from Forge is the 'old .21' not the 'new .21'. Did that Forge publish go ok? Also, in the dev branch, I see you renamed the announce text to .21 which is great... but the actual version a few lines lower in extension.xml is still set at .22.

According to the GitHub files, the changes should be included. I'll test stuff tomorrow.

Just in case I re-uploaded the forge file again.

Edit: Took a quick look, else I couldn't sleep. The chatframes added by "Output Record to Chat" need to be adjusted, as well as the button. The Sound Asset Manage Button needs to be brought in line with the theme as well as related play/pause buttons. Reference Manuals Need adjusted copy/paste collapse/expand buttons as well. Other than that, Dice Tower and Story/Note Headers are working s intended.

There are sure to be more small issues that need to be resolved. I might just have the motivation to do so during the week.

For either Sir Motte or Justin -- Sir Motte added font color support to an existing extension which has been working great, but I am working with the Dev of the extension for an updated version of it and it will need to have support added back to it for the dark Hearth theme. (text font on the extension is unreadable and a small graphic used by the author is based on light themes and is also unviewable (black on dark background color). What do you need from me or the dev to get support for the updated extension added? I know this can be changed with themes, however, if you did want to do that, you likely would add that as another UI theme you use and then use this one to color/theme it.

Have you looked up the EXT called Better Menus? It sounds like you could really use that one.

Update to v2.9.22 - Torchbearer

Announcement:

Like the Themes title suggests,
I will pass on the torch for Hearth to others. Namely Justin Freitas and the Unofficial Developers Guild.
Unfortunately I'm no longer able to maintain the theme in a reliable fashion (have been for some time now as you know).

Thus I have decided to step down as a maintainer. I'm not gone mind you, I just want to lift the increasingly heavy feeling of guilt that has been weighting on me for some time now.
I may or may not contribute to Hearth Theme in the future if I feel like it.

Please give a cheerful "HipHip Hooray" to Justin Freitas. I strongly believe he is the perfect fit to further improve Hearth.

That being said, here comes the changelog, all thanks to Justin and seanmccarty. This is where you cheer again please :D.

Taking a long rest.

Added button definition that controls tintable icon colors. Used by RequestedRolls to set icon colors in a theme independent manner. (seanmccarty)
Move extraneous windowclasses from CoreRPG to their correct locations in 4e and PFRPG2.
Chat frame optimizations and also token name label fix like height.
For GM text, use the creamy primary font color instead of bright yellow. Has a much better match and isn't used for any other chat messages (player chat, whisper, etc).
Added lots of fixes and additional buttons to 5e, 4e, Core and OSE2

Sincere thanks! This is high on my ever-growing list of extensions I can't imagine playing without.

I'm so glad to be able to read heigh indicators again... and it looks like layer names during editing and some fields in the image editor are more readable than before... still yellow on white, but a darker yellow.

Thanks for the problem report... I'll look into it. Ok, I see what you mean. Let me see what I can do about that.

Hey! There's some issues with Pathfinder 2. There's a new Tab on the character sheet that doesn't get formatted by this extension, and the boxes for the attack bonuses clashes with the font color. I love this theme, other than these small issues. <3

I had a hard time with this... couldn't find a quick/easy fix. I couldn't find where the panel was exposed to learn about its various components, thus, wasn't able to change the yellow on white without affecting other stuff. I'll keep thinking about it and ask around to see if others have had any success here.

Hi. Thanks for the report. I'm not normally a PFRPG2 FG user but did open up a campaign and saw the issue with the Activities tab. I also noticed that the theme wasn't accounting for the PFRPG2-Legacy ruleset. I got those two things working on my development environment and will now check out the attack bonus clashing. More soon.

Huh... looks like the changes I made (probably the PFRPG2-Legacy adjustments) fixed the attack bonus clashes too. Check out the attachment and see if this is what you were thinking. Thanks!
