is it posable to have a hex grid in fg?

You can create a map with a hex grid or any other sort of grid that you want. Dundjinni, for example, supports hex and square grids. You simply include the grid in the graphics file you put in the appropriate place in the campaign folder under FG.

However, FG1 only supports square grids internally, so if you want to use hex grids, you don't get functionality like automatic measurement of pointer length or cone/circle radius.

No clue on whether FG2 will support hex grids, but there is additional functionality in FG2 for square grids, such as snapping to grid corners and centers.

FG2 will accomplish quite a bit more than just incorporating the scripting engine into the software (as was planned according to the original specification dating back more than a year), but software hex grid is not among the updates initially.
