View Full Version : Corpse tokens? (image with minor spoiler for HotOE)

I recently ran a bloody encounter in CoC HotOE converted to Achtung! Cthulhu which was very close to a TPK. The PCs missed a booby trap which alerted the WWI veterans guarding a research facility. Later a missed Spot Hidden resulted in a PC death, but luck was turned when another made two back-to-back crits.

It's been a bit of a bummer that dead enemies (and PCs) disappear from the map when I remove from the combat tracker. So I started adding corpse tokens from Wyldfurr's Germans token pack into the map.

I'd like to make this a habit. Are there other token packs with corpses other than Wyldfurr's Germans and Yanks?

You may also be interested in the a couple of extensions. I forget their name at the moment, but there is one for 5E that leaves Blood Spatters / Grave markers where an NPC dies. Might be called "Blood Spatter"?

Don't suppose you could help a noob understand how extensions work and how I can go about adding this?

Thank you very much!

Are these always stable? Can I add as many as I please?

Oh, you wouldn't add any or do you mean you wouldn't go crazy adding loads? I've been looking and there are a few that take my fancy, including the ones above, but I worry about stability.

Extensions are changes to the code. Since they are developed outside of SmiteWorks and by different community members, they will often break each other. More is not better. Just use the ones that your game needs. Admittedly some people use dozens, but most of us who have been around only use a handful or less. Right now in my FGU games I'm using none. When I was running FGC games I usually used 3.

Fair. I've found about 4 that I would like to install and would look to try them one at a time in-case there is trouble.

Can I ask, though; if I use any and come across a problem, are they simple to just unload and remove? I guess I'm more worried about breaking my campaign for good.

Just exit your campaign and then from the start screen just unselect the circle for the extension you want to unload. Only a very few extensions (like Player Agency) actually modify the database itself, all the others just effect the run-time code and make no permanent changes.

Brill, that's reassuring. Appreciate the help
