Can anyone please point me in the right direction on how to create a character using variant race rules? My party comprises two pixies and a minotaur. I'd hate to think that using FG would limit us to what is simply in the PHB.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If they are not in a product you can buy, or you don't want to buy it, you can create the race yourself.

If you like videos, here are a couple;

If you like other threads on this topic, there are a bunch;

In short, copy a race from the SRD, edit it, share it to your players or export it to a player module and have you players load it.

Awesome! Thanks LordEntrails. This is a bit to dig into. I'll get started.
I appreciate the help.

Glad to help :)

Remember, when learning FG start small. you can always simulate what you do with pencil and paper (just type it into the character sheet) and then learn what you want from there (custom objects, effects, automation, etc). And when you can't find what you need (I prefer the 'Site Search' link for searching) just ask.

Also, might have gotten lost in the other thread so I'll repeat it here.

You (or the players) can also ignore the race automation and just plug stuff directly into a character sheet like in a regular tabletop game. The automation is awesome but especially for race if it's only going to be done once it might be less work to just direct enter the info.

That's good to know. I wasn't sure if direct entry was going to give me what I needed. But I'm starting to understand more how this program works.

Thanks to the videos you shared, I have now created the character races needed for my players and I'm moving forward. Thanks for the help and the useful feedback!

Yes, as I've learned a little more, I can see that getting hung up on character stats was a trivial matter. I've solved that situation though, and now I have a minotaur, pixie and sprite template for future games. Thanks for the support!

If you are looking for a product with the races already built, there are these two converted to fantasy grounds on DMsGuild. They create player races for all creatures in the Monster Manual and Volos Guide.

Holy expletive mattekure that's blanking awesome! (sorry to sound like a Flanders here, the censorship rules on this forum are humorously strict ;-)
Thanks for this tip! That's super exciting. I was happy to have learned how to plug these all in manually, now you tell me that the work is done! This was the solution I was hoping for but not expecting. Thanks a bunch! Cheers.
