While trying to host a game this evening, FGU crashed multiple times. When I tried to open certain story entries in the story tab, or tried to send something to chat from one of the entires, it would crash.

the log shows this:
[4/18/2020 8:39:16 PM] FGU v4.0.0 ULTIMATE (2020-04-17)
[4/18/2020 8:39:16 PM] Launcher scene starting.
[4/18/2020 8:45:52 PM] [<color="red">ERROR</color>] Database restore point found. Saved as new backup file (C:/Users/metzg/AppData/Roaming/SmiteWorks/Fantasy Grounds/campaigns/Into The Borderlands/db.backup.637228395528311627.xml)
[4/18/2020 8:45:52 PM] Starting private server mode. [(192.168.0.242:1802) (fe80::b5a8:fa1a:2888:4dc1:1802)]
[4/18/2020 8:45:52 PM] Game server started. [192.168.0.242:1802]
[4/18/2020 8:45:53 PM] Launcher scene exiting.
[4/18/2020 8:45:53 PM] Tabletop scene starting.

It doesn't crash when I select any entry, just certain ones. It does seem to be getting worse.

Can you upload/share the modules or campaign and identify exactly which stories have the problem?

What do you mean by "crash"? Can you describe exactly what happens?

After I have loaded the campaign, and I select one of the story elements, I get this (see attached picture). It's only happening in this particular campaign, so I fear that it may be corrupted...34017

If someone can walk me through sharing or uploading (use smallish words...I am not a computer expert by any means or imagination):D.

So far it has been the story elements I have labeled: ITBL - 01 - THE KEEP

Here is a link (the file is too big to post here...)

OK, as one of his players with some technical skills this one baffled me (and kinda still does). But I did get it working.
Along with immediately clicking on some story tabs and causing FGU to crash, clicking on other ones seemed to work - except they had whitespace where you knew text should be.
I examined the db.xml file, and everything seemed normal. I found out that if I deleted the entries and recreated them (with pasted/copied text), then the entries worked fine. I compared the recreated entries to the original in notepad++, and the entries looked exactly the same. Except the original would fail if I used it or spliced it into a different xml file, while the new version worked just fine.

I suspect it may be a font issue, carried over from when he cut and paste data from some pdf files.
Since tossing the bad areas into a word document seemed to fix those portions, I took the whole db.xml file, cut and paste it into a word file, and then pasted it back into a new xml file.

We then deleted all of the old db*.xml files in the campaign directory, pasted in the new one, and fired up FGU. All of the entries now show up like they should, I scrolled through all of them, and suffered no crashes.
